Seeking help for skin rash - ulticaria/hives

Hi all. I had a baby boy 4 weeks ago. Almost immediately after I had him I developed a rash, first on my abdomen and then all over, but mostly on my arms, legs and sides of my torso. It comes and goes in severity but for the last week it has got really bad. My doctor has said it is hives (ulticaria) and that it is an allergic reaction to something. It is red, very itchy, little spots like bites or nettle stings. It gets worse in hot water. I have been given antihistamine tablets and a mild hydrocortisone cream, neither of which are helping. I have had this for 4 weeks now and I'm starting to wonder if it will ever go. Please advise!
