toothache...bad

Hi,
I have had a root canal treatment on one of the molars on the left side of the upper jaw around two years back. The capping was not done at that point and somehow it was forgotten.
3/4 days back i could feel some bit of the filling come off....then started the agonising pain (the pain is only during the night time once i lie down on bed. There seems to be an infection of some kind....and i seriously dont want to go for another root-canal or tooth extraction.
No foul smell/ odour.
sipping cold water and holding it gives temporary relief.
i normally do not eat/drink anything piping hot, so woudnt know if that makes a difference.
last night, much as i hate i had no choice but to take a pain killer to get rid of the excruciating pain.
no swelling on that side of the mouth as yet.
mornings to evenings have been absolutely pain free (keeping busy at work n home cud be one reason that i dont think abt it during those times, but overall no pain till the night)
I can chew from that side...still no pain throughout the day.
Please suggest
Thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Take chamomilla 30c/200c,4 pills as a dose, preferably mixed in water.

You may still need to go to the dentist, to find out what has gone wrong.

please try STAPHYSAGRIA-30 (5 drops per dose thrice a day for a week) and report.

Teeth and gums: Toothache that is entirely absent in the daytime; as soon as it comes night, and the patient gets into the warm bed, then these shooting, tearing pains begin; with the irritability, oversensitiveness to pain, the mental state, hot head, you have the Chamomilla toothache.

Try chamomilla first, three doses maximum on three consecutive nights, and come back.

Coffea is another possibility, but we will look at it, in case Chamomila fails to hold.

The peculiarity of Coffea is that the pain is ameliorated as long as you hold cold water in the mouth, but the pain commences again once it becomes warm.

Homeopathy works only when we observe these peculiarities, and give a medicine that covers these peculiarities.

'This for that' never helps.

will try chamomila first as the symptoms closely match.

actually when i think about it carefully the temporary relief is absolutely temporary till the time cold water is held in the mouth...do i still go 4 chamomila

When the water becomes warm in the mouth, the pain commences again in coffea, despite keeping it in the mouth.

Do you have it?

Jerking toothache; relieved by holding ice water in the mouth; returns when water becomes warm.

Coffea cruda, like Chamomilla, acts strongly upon the nervous system. Indeed in nervous troubles, where the patient has not been addicted to the coffee habit, it often takes precedence.

If on the other hand he is a coffee drinker, Chamomilla is the remedy.

Are you a coffee drinker?

Both coffea and chamomilla have night pains. The differentiation has to be done carefully between these two.

If you are a coffee drinker, go for chamomilla. Otherwise coffea is a better choice.

But my resevation is that this all happend due to not proper route canal procedure.Where there is cavities below the gum line and either has to be extracted or have a root canal there Staph works very well.

Dear patient if you agree then please try it as prescribed earlier.

i am a coffee drinker 1/2 cups a day of strong coffee.
i dont have either of the med.....
now????which one/s should i get

since you are a habitual drinker, try Chamomilla first. Avoid taking coffee.

Dear Mahfooz

We don't know exactly what is triggering the pain. However,We have dependable symptoms.

if there are no peculiar, charaecteristic symptoms, then only we should think of other methods to arrive at the remedy.
