renal failure:
Dear Dr. Murthy,Taking the lead from the forum, I am writing about a family friend who is a terminal case because of renal failure; now on dialysis and waiting for a donor and kidney trasplant;
Name: - Madhu Gupta
Age: - 53 FEMALE
Diabetic: - For last 23 years (no family history)
Past History:- Her Creatnine was maximum upto 3.00 MG% and blood urea was under 100. (Before hospitalization)
For Last 1 ½ month:- She had high viral fever for around 3-4 days. One night she complained for breathlessness so was taken to the hospital. There she was given some injections but still she was not feeling well then was put on oxygen. Was not able to breath properly in the lying position so was sitting continuously for 2-3 days. Slowly started losing consciousness.
Blood Urea:-250 and Creatnine:- 5 went that high and there was water deposited in the lungs. She was in ICU for 9 days and on ventilator for 5-6 days. Dialysis was started immediately. Stayed in the hospital for another 20 days and then discharged.
Present Condition:-
Blood Sugar R:- 140 (Taking insulin injection at present)
Blood Urea:- 614.4
S Creatinine:- 2.63
Hemoglobin: 9.9
TLC:- 10100
She is having too many bed sores at present. Daily dressing is being done. Occasional fever as the dialysis is being done from the neck at present.
Medicines prescribed by the doctor;
Cap. Rabicip D
Tab. Ecosprin AV
Tab. Dytor 100mg
Tab. á (alpha) Recal
Tab. Menipress XL 5.0 mg
Cap Dalacin C 300 mg TDS
Tab. Augmentin 625 mg
Injection Neorecormon 5000 1.U. S/C once/week.
Please let me know if some more information is needed.
