'Normally dryness causes shrinking. In your case it is the reverse.'

Can you please wxplain thi statement in further detail for me.

Ive taken Wyethia yesterday and today. I am a little bit improved today although there has been a few times where the pain is bad. I can imagine that something like this wil take a while to come around.
If the epiglotis is inflames and possibly out of place Would I possibly have stomach acid still leaking up?

Ryelink last decade
What I meant was that a membrane which becomes dry ,normally shrinks.

However in your case that may not be a correct statement. You have a sensation of dryness. It doesn't really mean the membrane is dry.

How many doses of Wyethia you took so far?

It is surprising that your doctor didn't prescribe anything. What did he say?

Murthy

We can't be sure of your stomach acid still coming up, unless you hve symptoms of heartburn too.

I took 5 doses yesterday and the same amount today.

The doctor saud that it was infact my epiglottis that was sticking up behind my tongue and that it was very inflamed but not infected. He figured it was the heartburn acid that has inflamed it but he was only speculating from what I told him about taking the Chlorella. He didnt seem concerned and didnt offer any treatment saying as long as I stopped what was causing heartburn it should go away.
Tonight I order Chlorum and Hepat from Helios just in case. Id rather be safe than sorry. PLease let me know your thoughts.
I dont want to guess for remedies but Hepat woud have to be the next in line seeing as it does feel like I have a piece of food stuck in my throat.

Ryelink last decade
The sensation in my throat is almost like whatever is in there is trying to work its way up and out my mouth and I keep swallowing to keep it down.

Ryelink last decade
You should stop taking Wyethia in unchanged doses now.

Let us try to analyse your case symptomatically, forgetting a while about epiglottis.

If you have Kent, look at the throat chapter, and let me know all the rubrics ,you feel apply to you.

If you don't have Kent, go for the Remedy Finder on this site, and mark all your symptoms, and post the final grid here.

You did a good thing in ordering Hepat and Chlorum. We may need them.

BONE in, sensation of
FOOD lodged in the throat
FOREIGN body, sensation of LUMP
(to me these are very similar.)
IRRITATION
NARROW sensation (not sure if this isnt just the fact that it feels like theres something in there)
PAIN, throbbing
PAIN, swallowing
(When I am eating, drinking it just accentuates the fact that it feels like something is in throat)

PULSATING
SENSITIVE

The pain in my throat is dull in the morning and then gets worse as day goes on.
By afternoon it is at its worst and remains until next day

My external throat is sensitive to touch under my chin area all the way back to vertical section of throat. Vertical section not so sensitive.

The repertisation brings out Lachesis as the most prominent remedy covering all most all the symptoms, followed by hepar.

However Hepar doesn't have the external throat sensitive to touch.

I suggest you to try Lachesis in the following manner.

Get a 500ml. bottle, fill it with about 250ml. of water, add two drops of Lachesis 200c to it, shake well and mix about a teasponful out of the RSB(remedy solution bottle) in a cup of water, and take a teaspoon out of the cup.

The above is one dose.

Take a dose every two hours, and make sure that you succuss the RSB well before taking a fresh dose.

Take a maximum of six doses and stop.

Report after 24 hours.

Lachesis is a prominent throat remedy and hopefully it should provide you relief.

Thank you for all your hard work on my case. You have gone above and beyond what I was hoping anyone to do.

I started Lachesis 30c just minutes ago as you prescribed. Turns out Canadian regulations just changed recently and I am no longer allowed to purchase a 200c without a prescription from the homeopath that is selling me the remedies. Stup.id Government.

I will keep you posted.

it's o.k.

even 30c should help.

I am summarising your problems.

I have different method of identifying the remedy.

Pl. correct if anything to be corrected/added in the following:-

You are suffering for almost a week and unable to identify he correct remedy.

THROAT:

'It looks off white but also see some red almost like veins in it.

'aggravate when swallowing from food or drink. tongue is also coated

' first found a large mass behind my soft pallate on the right side

' epiglottis is horribly inflamed'

'The pain in throat is dull in the morning and then gets worse as day goes on.
By afternoon it is at its worst and remains until next day '

..Pain aggravates during the day is due to use of tongue during day time and better in the night is due to rest in the night...

'today tongue is heavily coated, white in colour.'

..Shows that infection is travelling in the entestine too...

I am giving below the comparision of effect on Throat of the followig medicines:-

WYETHIA

Throat.--Constant clearing and hemming. Dry, posterior nares; no relief from clearing. Throat feels swollen; epiglottis dry and burning. Difficult swallowing. Constant desire to swallow saliva. Uvula feels elongated

LACHESIS

Throat.--Sore, worse LEFT side, swallowing liquids. Quinsy. Septic parotiditis. Dry, intensely swollen, externally and internally. Diphtheria; membrane dusky, blackish; pain aggravated by hot drinks; chronic sore throat, with much hawking; mucus sticks, and cannot be forced up or down. Very painful; worse slightest pressure, touch is even more annoying. In diphtheria, etc, the trouble began on the left side. Tonsils purplish. Purple, livid color of throat. Feeling as if something was swollen which must be swallowed; worse, swallowing saliva or liquids. Pain into ear. Collar and neck-band must be very loose

SILICEA
Throat.--Periodical quinsy. Pricking as of a pin in tonsil. Colds settle in throat. Parotid glands swollen (Bell; Rhus; Calc). Stinging pain on swallowing. Hard, cold swelling of cervical glands

BELLADONNA
.--Dry, as if glazed; angry-looking congestion (Ginseng); red, worse on RIGHT side. Tonsils enlarged; throat feels constricted; difficult deglutition; worse, liquids. Sensation of a lump. Œsophagus dry; feels contracted. Spasms in throat. Continual inclination to swallow. Scraping sensation. Muscles of deglutition very sensitive. Hypertrophy of mucous membrane.

As you have insight on the medicines and have stuudied, I felt that you also look to Silecea and Belladona.

You had a white patch indicative of septic effect. You have inflamation and red. This is arising out of the infection that you caught from the food.

Now since the problem started from RIGHT side with a white patch, area is inflamed and red.

my advise to you is to consider

'Belladona'

in lower potency say 6 and in repeat doses.

Rajendra last decade
Belladona';s complaints come on suddenly, with great force, stay for some time and disappear suddenly.

Bell';s complaints normally come due to exposure of the head to cold in winter/cold weather. The sudden exposure to cold in plethoric individuals, is one of the most prominent causes of the Bell. sickness.

Great liability to take cold; sensitive to drafts of air, especially when uncovering the head; from having the hair cut; tonsils become inflamed after riding in a cold wind.

Some of the Bell's complaints come on exposure to sun too.

Causation.„ŸHair-cutting. Head, getting wet. Sausages. Sun. Wind, walking in.

***********
The above is compiled from various Materia medicas to show it's charecteristics.

It is a purely acute remedy, for complaints that arise mainly due to exposure to cold, and sometimes to sun.

Bell works, be it a sore throat, fever, headache, stiffness of neck or any other complaint, only if the causation is there and ofcourse when the symptoms tally.

More over, even for complaints for which Bell is suitable initially, if it doesn't abort the condition quickly, the symptoms will change to point out some other remedy.

Bell is never indicated for chronic problems that linger on.

One should understand the 'pace' of the remdy, as they are called.

Some medicines are useful for complaints of purely acute nature. Aconite, and Belladona head that list, some others being Chamomilla and coffea.

This is from Farrington

***************

The character of the diseases in which Belladonna is indicated is acute, sudden and violent. The very rapidity of the onset of the trouble should at once suggest Belladonna. For example, a child is perfectly well on going to bed. A few hours afterwards it is aroused with violent symptoms, jerking of the limbs, irritation of the brain, and screaming out during sleep. All these symptoms suggest Belladonna.

So too in inflammations, if they are violent and come suddenly, and are almost overwhelming in their intensity, Belladonna is again suggested. We may think of it in abscess, whether this be an abscess of the tonsil, a boil, or any other kind of abscess when pus develops with lightning-like rapidity. Hence we find it indicated in phlegmonous erysipelas, which quickly goes on to suppuration. The affected parts become greatly swollen. Pus works its way through the tissues between the various muscles. The very suddenness of the attack suggests Belladonna, The pains are quite consistent with this character of the drug. They come suddenly and last a greater or less length of time, and then cease as suddenly as they began. So much for the general character of Belladonna.

The throat is a prominent point of attack in the Belladonna proving. The inflammation which it develops there is of a very common kind. Looking into the throat, you find the fauces inflamed and bright red; the tonsils enlarged, particularly the right, with tendency of the disease to extend towards the left. All these symptoms have the same rapidity of progress that we noticed with the Belladonna symptoms elsewhere. There is great contraction of the fauces and glottis, so that any attempt to swallow is followed by sudden constriction of the throat and ejection of the food through the nose and mouth. The patient makes an attempt to drink, and the moment the water touches the fauces it is ejected, and escapes in any way it can. The patient seems to be worse from swallowing fluids, more so, in fact, than from either saliva or solids. The tonsils rapidly suppurate; the glands in the neck, externally, are commonly involved, and are to be felt as hard but very sensitive kernels in the neck. Sometimes, you find a pearly-white exudate on the fauces, which is seen to be mucus and not fibrin.

********

Mark those words.

'The inflammation which it develops there(throat) is of a very common kind'.

It is not enough to depend on Boericke alone for prescribing.

It is no doubt a handy reference book, but it doesn't cover the remedies in detail in their various facets.

To use Boericke efficiently, you must first know the essence of a remedy through other books. Then Boericke can be used for quick reference.

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
Oh! I see the problem is not 'acute'

You mentioned -'Bell is never indicated for chronic problems that linger on'

Is it a chronic problem?

I felt that Chronic diseases—are such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

I have experience that inflamation which is visibly redish and with septic condition is taken care by this remedy without any side effects.Yes such situation develops suddenly.

However from your own notings as above about Belladona :-from Farrington

'So too in inflammations, if they are violent and come suddenly, and are almost overwhelming in their intensity, Belladonna is again suggested. We may think of it in abscess, whether this be an abscess of the tonsil, a boil, or any other kind of abscess when pus develops with lightning-like rapidity'

'The throat is a prominent point of attack in the Belladonna proving'

In the instant case the problem has come sudenly due to taking a particular food and there is abscess and also in throat.

I do not know why Belladona will not work.

However, if Boeruche is not to be relied upon then this book should be banned.

I have taken the doses yesterday. This morning my uvula is now inflamed and is hanging down and touching my tongue. PLease let me know.

Rajendra thank you for your input on this case as well.

Ryelink last decade
How is the original problem? Do you feel any diference?

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
No I dont think so. The pain when I swallow isnt bad but then it usually isnt in the mornings.
Diarrhea has just set in this morning as well.

Ryelink last decade
Is there cough with the elongated uvula? Is it a new symptom that happened after taking Lachesis?

What exactly is the discomfort you are having now?

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
No coughing at all. The feeling remains the same as yesterday. The uvula was stuck against my tongue when I first woke up. Now that Ive been awake for about an hour it is not touching. I think maybe the swelling from laying horizontally had something to do with this. Other than the diarrhea nothing feels different.

Ryelink last decade
O.k.

I presume you took six doses as suggested from the RSB. If there is no added discomfort other than the usual one, we will wait for a day, to see whether the remedy has any effect.

Come back tomorrow morning and report. No more medicine for today.

You asked me to look at these points and let you know if they fit....

THROAT:

'It looks off white but also see some red almost like veins in it.

Yes, but this is the description of my epiglottis

'aggravate when swallowing from food or drink. tongue is also coated

Yes

' first found a large mass behind my soft pallate on the right side

Yes

' epiglottis is horribly inflamed'

Yes

'The pain in throat is dull in the morning and then gets worse as day goes on.
By afternoon it is at its worst and remains until next day '

Yes

..Pain aggravates during the day is due to use of tongue during day time and better in the night is due to rest in the night...

not sure, but makes sense

'today tongue is heavily coated, white in colour.'

Yes

..Shows that infection is travelling in the entestine too...

again, makes sense

from my point of view this is an acute problem that was caused from allergic reaction. What I dont understand is why the problem hasnt rectified itself after stopping the offending supplement. My only guess is that now my epiglottis is inflamed and is not properly blocking acid from comming up and therefore is continuing to aggravate eppiglottis.
