The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Acute case - suggestions please

I am a 74 year old woman in good health with no problems until moving into a retirement home two weeks ago. I am now constantly exhausted, have to take 3-4 naps a day and have no energy. Today my voice is raspy although throat is not sore. Had slight earache yesterday for a few minutes.

People here are sick. I am never sick. Now I am desperate for suggestions.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Have someone you trust check for carbon monoxide poisoning. Better yet, easier, buy a CM detector and put it in your room like a smoke detector. This would be a good first step.

Have a case of bottled water brought in. Drink NOTHING but that for at least 10 days. No milk, no juice. Only your own water. See if there are any changes.

Is the complex newly decorated? New paint or rugs, the parking lot newly tarred? These things can make one feel so tired because it is a form of poisoning.

All that spray stuff advertized on TV about "keeping the air clean," is bosh! Are there sprays going off here and there to keep everything smelling clean while it poisons the residents?

Companies that sell that stuff DO NOT CARE if it kills you. They just want the money. They lie for money. TV is negative hypnosis to BUY, BUY, BUY, no matter what the product.

Cleaning supplies are very harsh. Units like this strive to keep things very clean while poisoning the patrons with the chemicals.

Frankly, I would look for another place to live, especially due to the fact that too many others there seem to be sick and you were not previously. Sabra

Thanks for your responses. It's possible that it was the paint because the apartment was painted before I moved in and the smell was strong for several days. I kept the windows open and didn't move in for a week. I still keep them open 24/7.

They don't use sprays here and nothing has been done outside. I've never smelled strong cleaning solutions like you smell in some places. I've been with the person when she's been doing the cleaning and there's never an odor. I understand that doesn't always mean anything but it's encouraging.

I've been thinking of fasting so that suggestion of drinking water might be good but I wouldn't do it for 10 days. Why not juice?

I don't have the option of moving.

what medications currently /recently use/used?when start use?reason(s)?

how do you feel after the naps?how many napswereyou taking before this started?

where did you move from?how long were you in old home before moving to current home?what are your feelings concerning moving into new/out of old?

You never know if something is being added to the liquid intake. I suggest not fasting. Obviously there is an unknown problem that you do not want to make yourself weaker. Your own sealed water will be safer for you.

If any new person moves in, watch if they too become weaker.

Are any of your meds different than before you moved in? Are there any new ones you don't know what they are for? Do you keep your meds or does someone give them out? Sabra

I'm not taking any medications and only rarely need a homeopathic remedy.

When I asked about juice and fasting, I often fast with herb tea, potassium broth, distilled water and fresh carrot juice.

After waking from a nap I feel rested for a short time and then tired again. In between times I'm never really alert.

I often doze in the chair while watching TV but rarely had to lie down to sleep. This is different.

I drink only distilled water.
I am a vegan so my diet remains constant.

I did a lot of moving myself which required many stairs and stirred up an old disc problem in my back. It was the night of the move that I first felt total exhaustion.

I am pleased about the move and lived for a year in another house. I didn't feel this way then although I was under a great deal of stress. Is it possible this is simply the result of a transition and the sublimated stress is finally catching up with me?

please expalin more thoroughly--stirred up old disc problem...when (during the recent moving)did old problem begin to show?

Why do we forget our ages and do more than we should? We all do it. It sounds as though you know how to care for yourself quite well except for that. I would still avoid fasting for awhile.

Get some natural Vit with Iron to build yourself back up. Step up the C and Zink, they are the healers. Liquid Calcium for the back. When we overdo, we use up the free flowing calcium in the body that is our fuel. Then the body leaches it out of the spine for use. If the health store has a nutritionist to consult, ask them for advice to compare views.

Because of the paint, take one dose of Nux V. (30X-200X) every day for 10 days or more. I too, had paint poisoning that lasted for two months. This may be a clue as I dragged myself around and napped a lot. Go to a chiropractor and get your back checked. Hope you can find one that does muscle testing. Sabra

RE: old disc problem. A chiropractor fractured my spine three years ago completely compressing one disc and partially compressing three.

He is an excellent doctor but this was a case of poor judgement on his part although he's always denied any wrongdoing. He does kineseology and gentle touch. I had osteoporosis and the spine was weakened. On the plus side, I learned I had it and could do something about it. I could have broken a hip just crossing the street.

I've had no pain for about 1 1/2 years until the day of the move when I couldn't bend over without pain and spasm in the lower back.

I started using an icepack a couple of days ago and it is much better but I'm still not as limber as I was a couple of weeks ago.

I will take the liquid calcium and will hold off on the nux for a few days. It was suggested yesterday that I take three doses of Influenzinum, which I did and woke feeling better than I have in a couple of weeks. In addition, I slept longer than I have in a long time although my back hurt more...maybe from the rain.

It would appear that the feeling of fatigue and lethargy was a virus. But the back still hurts! The calcium might help.

Thank you for your posts.

Don't forget the vitC and Zink, I am so sorry about your back.

STOP thinking you are a kid, even if you feel like one. Your body is not.

God bless you. Sabra

Sabra...

I take a lot of C plus vitamins and supplements but much zinc except lozenges once in a while. I'll get some.

Not sure what you mean about not thinking I'm a kid. I do think young, I look young, I feel young. All my friends are young. So I overdid the moving a little. My son did too and he IS young.

It sure beats thinking I'm an old woman in a retirement home with nothing more in life to look forward to.

:)

Of course you are young. In every part of you except the body. You must take care of this body and not do more than it is able.

My grandchildren are over 25 with two new great grandchildren and I too "feel" very young.

I said what I did with all due respect and concern. Blessings, Sabra

Yesterday I was thinking about your comment and realized I was very defensive. You're absolutely right. My physical body is a lot older than I realize and because I always feel so good, I obviously pushed it too hard during the move.

My apologies and thanks.

No apology necessary. I often write shortened sentences. You had no idea I am a great GM. If I thought some young thing was saying such a thing, I would have thought as you did.

Once when I was only 50 yrs old I was getting food from a line of pot-luck and a younger woman came along and took the spoon from my hand and began to help me with much of what I didn't want. I politely told her that I didn't want her to do this and she would remember me when she was 50 and would understand. I had white hair at a young age, dyed light blond, a lawyer called me "elderly." The look I gave him caused him to step back.

Life is funny. We need to laugh together to get through it. Blessings, Sabra
