Overintellectualize, not in touch with body person

Hi there. I have a friend who often complains that he needs time to 'get back into his body'. He spends alot of time thinking (I think, overintellectualizing). He is very skinny and not very body focused. He is doing yoga and that helps him to get more in touch with his body, but he seems to have the tendency to easily 'lose touch with his body'. It's like a mind-body split, where there is too much focus on the mind and too little focus on the body (ie. taking care of the body). When he moves back into his body, there is a period of very deep breathing, as if his body has been starved of oxygen. Any thoughts?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
CANNABIS INDICA.

in the provings. It causes two states that I have found: the one is in acute states where there is this kind of ethereal kind of expression where there are a lot of delusions of going out of their body.

I think I should be clear -- he's not delusional when he is not in his body. His mind is full of his thoughts, his work, etc. He forgets to look after his body because his focus is too much on his mind. Again, no delusions -- he knows who he is.

How is his sense of cleanliness? How often does he bathe? Does he put on used shirts? Does he philosphize everything?

My apologies, I did not read your last post where you mention it is not a delusion. Please disregard my previos post.

srisri appears to be on the right track.

Hello all. Regarding cleanliness, bathing, wearing clean clothes, there is no problem. I would say he is refined & delicate. He is weak looking, very near sighted, kind of feeble, lacking in confidence in his appearance. He enjoys 'fantasizing', so he tends to live more in his head than his body.

What does he fantasize ? Why does he fantasize ? Please describe these things in detail.

Also let us know the following:

- food preferences/ cravings
- weather preferences
- how he organizes/ structures his work/ surroundings
- anything unique about him - mannerisms/ habits/ etc.
- did he start fantasizing after any specific event?
- What are his fears?
- Quality of sleep and nature of dreams?

i would like to add another question to the long list of unanswered questions-

Whether he is a software professional getting hefty remuneration for his mental excursions or he is a poet.

Thnaks for all the questions. I will try to answer them:

1. What does he fantasize about?: He broods alot about the days' events. He replays conversations, and thinks about what he could have/shouldhave done. So, I guess these are not really 'fantasies'. Sometimes, he fantasizes about being famous, like a famous singer or actor. I think he's a bit of an escapist of his problems.

2. Food preferences: nothing out of the ordinary, but he doesn't eat meat or drink alcohol because he doesn't crave it, and feels better digestion-wise to not eat it. He eats alot of vegetables instead.

3. Weather preferences: MUCH prefers the heat, then the cold. Cannot tolerate the cold. Covers up alot when the rest of us are not feeling cold.

4. Organization: He is pretty neat, and organized. A logical thinker who needs to have things in their place in order to concentrate. I would say that concentration is difficult.

5. Mannerisms/Habits: He does talk in his sleep and occasionally 'sleep walks'; he is timid, mild person; afraid of confrontation; feels 'unlucky' about his life, in particular, being able to attract a partner.

6. Fears: seems like performance anxiety, being good enough, fear of confrontation, fear of overworking

7. Diseases: father has arthritis, mother is fine; grandparents: heart problems, cancer; mostly died in old age

8. Software professional or poet: Neither. He is a family lawyer, who helps couples divorce. He has decided not to do any court work.

Thank you all and look forward to your responses.

The remedies to be differentiated here are Silica and Lycopodium.

These two medicines can be very hard to differentiate.

All of the symptoms above are found in both :)

However, the performance anxiety and lack of confidence in Silica is more imaginary, where as in Lycopodium it is due to a inner knowledge of 'inability'.

Also check his finger nails..are they brittle, are they rough ? are they yellow ?

Does he have offensive foot sweat ?

Does he ever have a 'hair sensation' on his tongue ?

Does he have INGROWN TOENAILS ?

Is he Conscientious about trifles ?
