Advice on potencies

Hi,

I am a 42 year old female who has been experiencing terrible anxiety for the last couple of years that my homeopath and I believe is hormone related.
It is at it's worst in the morning and I have been experiencing mood swings along with many fits of crying.

I worked with my homeopath for about 6 months, and despite the fact that I told her that I am ultra sensitive to homeopathic remedies, she insisted that the higher potencies (up to 50M) were correct for my case. I am not a doctor so I took her advice, and it was disasterous. I got nothing but aggravations, and felt worse for 6 months with her telling me that eventually it would get better, but I stopped going because I could not take it anymore.

Just recently, I convinced her to let me start at 30c with the main remedy that she gave me (ignatia)and perhaps work up from there.
Within 45 minutes of taking 5 pellets of the 30c ignatia, I felt reborn. All of the horible worry and irrational anxiety were gone!

So here is my dilemma, I'm not sure how much more to take and for how long, or if I should try a 200c as a maximum dose.
I took it one day, and it absolutely saved me, but I needed it the next morning again.
Because of this my homeopath just said "your body is not keeping the vibration, you need the higher potencies" and would not give me advice for how much or how often to take the 30c potency.

I desperately want to keep feeling as good as I do now after years of misery.
Can anyone advise me?

Thank you,

Poppy

You are absolutely right that high potencies are not for you.

You need to take the 30c itself in water dose. It can be repeated daily if necessary.

Take about 250 ml. of water in a 500 ml. fresh bottle and mix 4 pellets in it and shake vigorously. Add about 30 ml. of good quality brandy to it. This is your stock bottle.

Take a teaspoon out of it as and when needed. Succuss the bottle well everytime before taking the medicine. To know how to succuss watch this video.

Don't mix any more pellets into the bottle except the first time.

Dear Murthy,
Succuss the bottle well everytime before taking the medicine"
This can be applied in clinical practice.

Thank you so much Murthy. I feel relieved that my instincts were correct.

I will try this.

Will there ever be a time when I don't need it, when I might just need it once in a while, and not have to take it every day?

Thanks again!

Well Murthy will advise you properly. The rule is, stop medication when the condition is worse or better.

Sajjad is right. use it only as required. The brandy in the solution will prevent it from becoming stale and you can store the bottle for a long time without any worry.

If you live in hot climates you can keep it in the refrigerator. But you have to make sure that the fridge is free from odors.

Perhaps you are aware of this but to just make sure let me tell this.

Make sure that there are no odors on you (perfumes etc) near you (in the room sprays etc) and in your mouth before taking the medicine.

homeo medicines get easily antidoted by strong odors.

Thanks again to both of you.

And yes I always make sure that I don't do anything to antidote the remedy.

One more question.

I also find that the remedy arg nit is very helpful with anticapatory anxiety like before work in the morning.
I'm a schoolteacher and I often get anious before I have to go to work.

Can I do the same thing with the arg nit and keep a bottle on hand when I need it? Is it OK to take the two remedies on the same day at different times, or one one day, and one the next?

I guess my concern is that I seem to need the remedy every morning. Once I take it, I'm OK a short while later, but I'll need it again the next morning.

Is it OK to take it every morning?

Sorry for all of the questions, I just want to make sure that I do the right thing.

Thanks again!

It is not wise to take two medicines on the same day, unless it is absolutely essential.

you have to decide on one medicine to start with. You can use it for a couple of days every day morning if need be. Once the condition for which you are taking shown signs of abatement, stop taking the medicine , give a gap of few days and start the second one.

Great thanks,

I promise, just one last question.

Would you advise going up to a 200c
(no higher than that) with the water in the jar method if I keep needing the 30c remedy every morning and don't seem to be resolving the problem on a more permanent basis?

Much gratitude for your selfless service!

Yes. If the problem still lingers on after finishing off the stock bottle, we may think of upping the potency, if the same set of symptoms keep recuring without any change.

Thanks once again,

I had a nice reaction to the dissolving in water method.
Shortly after taking it I started spontaneously deep breathing and felt very relaxed, and my solar plexus chakra calmed down. That is where I feel most of my anxiety.

This method feels much deeper acting, without aggravations.

I will see how it goes for a week or so, or until the stock bottle is gone, and if necessary I'll try the 200c.

I will post again in a week or so.

With gratitude.

Hello again Murthy,

I have been taking the 30c in water as you suggested and I get better whenever I take it, but I still seem to need it every day.
I haven't tried the 200c yet.

I would like to give you a brief overview of how this anxiety came about. Maybe after reading this you will have other suggestions.

- 3 years ago father died, extreme grief, no homeopathy taken

- extreme stress in dealing with other family members at this time, lots of fear regarding family

-at same time new principal at my school, and teaching job became extremely stressful, felt I couldn't cope, felt like a horrible teacher

-this went on for the past 2 years, anxiety, feeling of not being good enough, emotionally exhausted

-a year ago, basically had a breakdown, all I could do was go to work, come home, cry and eat

-this past September got a job at a new school, much happier and much less stressful, anxiety dissipated

-this past October my beloved Guru and meditation teacher passed away very suddenly

-grief and shock was worse than when my father passed away

-little time to grieve as I had to work

-anxiety came back around January

-feeling better when taking ignatia 30c in water, but I need it often

-I'm also going to a network chiropractor which stirs up a lot of emotional things

-it seems that hormones may also be playing a part in this

Should I try the 200c of Ignatia in water, or is there something else that I should try?

Thank you so much for listening.

As long as you are getting benefitted by the daily dose of 30C in water don't leave it.

There is no harm in continuing the water dose for a long time as long as you are succussing it before taking.

Don't be in a hurry to jump to 200c. We will review after you finish the stock bottle.

Thanks!

Will keep going. It really is helping.
I was just afraid that taking it every day would do harm because I've always heard that you should stop taking a remedy once it starts working, but I seem to need it every day.

Thanks again for the advice!

Hello Murthy,

I have been taking the ignatia 30c with the water method and I am finished with the stock bottle, but I still need it almost daily.

There has definitely been a marked improvement, and as long as I keep taking it my anxiety levels stay low, but I can't seem to hold the vibration and I still need it every day.

What is your suggestion? Should I try the same water method with a 200c, try again with another stock bottle of 30c, or try a different remedy that might be deeper acting?

I'm very grateful for your advice.

Re: Advice on potenciesFrom gavinimurthy [Log on to view profile] on 2008-05-11
We will not leave a remedy that is acting. Let us try it with a 200c.

Make the stock bottle in the same way, and report progress after the first three doses.

Hello Murthy,

I have taken the 200c of Ignatia in water method for 4 mornings in a row.

Interesting things have happened. Many large bowel movements (more than normal), some diahrrea, more urination than normal.

Mood is quite good. Still anxiety on waking, but leaves fairly quickly especially if I jog in the morning. The anxiety is always about anticipating the day.
Mood stays clear and calm and energetic throughout the day.

Have also contracted some kind of virus. Started with a really bad sore throat. Swollen glands on both sides and very painful to swallow. The sore throat is almost gone but it has changed into a head cold with sinus pain stuffiness, but nasal discharge is clear.Ears also feel plugged.

Even though I have this cold, I feel good and I feel energy.Almost too much energy. So I have the physical symptoms, but I don't feel really sick, only mildly.

Wondering if I should take something for the sinus cold. Bryonia? Belladonna?
Or could this be a clearing illness?

Should I continue with Ignatia, or stop now to see what happens?

Thank you once again!

Re: Advice on potenciesFrom gavinimurthy [Log on to view profile] on 2008-05-15
Keep taking the water dose once in two days. The cold should resolve in a couple of days.

Don't forget to succuss the remedy bottle everytime before you take the medicine.

Report back on Monday.

Murthy
