thrombocytopenia in ver old man
Dear Drs.My grandfather is 98 years old.
His blood test is perfect except that platelet levels are very very low. Doctors say that his body does not make more platelets.
From time to time he needs to visit the hospital where blood of another people is transfered. This is very difficult because he is bnot able to walk.
I know that life in this world has an end and that 98 years old is very very old but he thinks very well, he reads newspapers, he watches TV, follows every TV program, etc.
Any treatment to increase the levels of platelets?
He does not take any medicine.
