canine cutaneous histiocytoma

I have a black lab with canine cutaneous histiocytoma. It was suggested that I try vitamin E. After 2 weeks of applying vitamin E it has not improved.
I am hoping that it will regress on its own as predicted but he is scratching and getting blood everywhere. He is a house dog.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE CAUSE OF THIS CONDITION??
