Bright yellow vomit?

Hi,

My 9 year old daughter got sick in the morning a couple of weeks ago. She felt very hot and took off her shirt and then she vomited out (7 to 8 times) bright yellow fluid over a period of two hours. I gave her ipecac twice but it didn't work, then I gave her Pepto Bismol and she was fine after that. She had overeaten the night before but there was no undigested food in her vomit and she hadn't eaten anything yellow, it was barbecue chicken and some bread. Sine then, she has been feeling sick every morning and doesn't want to eat anything. She is fine later in the day and her appetite is fine too. She vomited again a couple of days ago but that was just transparent liquid like saliva and it wasn't much. But I am concerned about her feeling so sick in the morning. She doesn't say its nausea, she just doesn't want to eat and wants to lie down. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Israr

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Phos , pulsatilla and nux vom seem to be the best choices.
If she likes cold drinks , is a bit on the skinny side with auburn/red hair - try Phos.
If blonde , dislikes woolen garments , is esay going up to a point and then stubborn try Puls.
If neither of the above try Nux vom

Thanks for your reply. We are South Asians, black hair and tan complexions. My daughter is tall for her age but is not too skinny. She is the right weight for her age.

Please have her checked for hot appendix.

Sometimes something is eaten that is too much for the digestive system and the liver works overtime and then there may be yellow vomit, BUT with the continual mornings of discomfort, have her checked.

Thanks Sabra, but just for information, isn't she supposed to have pain if there is problem with her appendix?

israr106h last decade
Not necessarily.

Recently we had a 11 year old with fever and cough and it wasn't until at least 4 weeks passed she finally came up with the appendix and by that time, quite ill. There was absolutely no inkling.

Appendix can even hurt on the wrong side.

Thanks so much for your concern Sabra. I really appreciate it. No, its not an appendix, seems like acidity. She still feels not too good in the morning, doen't want to eat. But I tried giving her banana smoothy and she's been drinking a few sips of that for the past three to four days. Her appetite is okay later in the day. What would your recommend for acidity in the morning?

Thanks

Go to health store and get some capsules (powder) of Hydrocloric Acid. This is what is produced by the stomach to digest foods. Her body may be out of balance right now and need some supplements of this.

Give 3 with the evening meal. You could give more, but try the evening first.

Have you had blood drawn to check liver conditions? May want to do this if this condition persists.

LACHESIS is a remedy that "sleeps into aggrivation." And it has difficult tummy and elimination. It has facial complaints and the mental fits as far as not wanting to join the world in the morning.

If this seems to fit your child, try 200X or 1C and give 3 doses, one each evening for 3 nights.

Please let us know.

Blessings, Sabra

Thanks for your mail. I intend to have her checked for liver condition.
I went to buy Nux Vomica this morning. I hadn't received your mail at that time. Tonight she had a good dinner (it was a spicy beef gravy with some bread) but she didn't overeat and after about half an hour, started complaining of not feeling well. She wanted to drink water a lot. Also, she felt pretty hot. (She complains of feeling hot in the morning too and doesn't want to put on her jacket when going out to go to school). Any ways, I gave her Nux Vomica and she said she felt better after a while.
I just read your e-mail. Do you think I should continue with Nux or should I buy the hydrochloric as well. Lachesis doesn't seem right for her. She does want to go to school and she feels a lot better when she gets out of the house and is hit by cool air.

Thanks

I always suggest the HCA when there is a continuing unknown stomach upset. You mentioned that she wakes up feeling bad in the tummy, so I felt this evening dose may help good digestion overnight.

You could also think of CARBO VEG for the stomach also. But then you would be giving two remedies and while either may help, you are already getting some results with the NUX.

Hi Israr,

If she is benefitted by Nux, dont change the medicine till there is no more improvement, or the symptoms are cured. This is a general rule of Homoeopathy.

If she stops getting results after giving Nux, you can try Pulsatilla 200 single dose at night.

Pulsatilla is complementary to Nux , and so it will complete the action of Nux vomica.

Pulsatilla also covers her important modality "better in open air".

Phosphorus is another possibility , if she feels better after COLD drinks

Please keep posting about her condition,

Take care...

My kids do this often, the last post is very good reference. For my 2nd child phosphorus combined with carb v. works magic. I did same as you to start with ipec. and no results (because of vomiting without relief). My son wanted ice cold water, took small drinks, and vomited as soon as warm in stomach (10-15 min later). This was very specific to phos. also, he was very sleepy. My kids do this often...not sure why, but I am thankful homeopathy is here to help aide the discomfort.

best of luck

I am aware this is an old post, but my child had this same symptoms and he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Please when your child have morning vomits like these go to a hospital and have a head scan done.

For three weeks my child only felt indisposed in the morning and vomited yellow fluid. It started by being once in the morning, then it would repeat two or three times. He complained of tummy aches. Suddently, he started having intense headaches and couldn't stand on his two feet without stumbling. After a headache blinded him temporarily I panicked and called the emergencies.

The tumor was on the posterior fossa and after histology was diagnosed as medulloblastoma.

Once you go to a hospital your children's life is in the hand of the doctors and their authority, they don't let you leave or refuse treatment, so it's something to consider.

I would be curious about Israr's daughter's progress, she never posted again. I find worrying she would not post more.

Mr Israr
I also vomit yellow stuff once in a random while...once a month or once a 6 month but random! this yellow stuff forms only during my sleep and gives me such excruciating headache that I wake up ...My food is always digested when this yellow stuff comes out of my stomach...I dont know what the hell is it...I dont think it is simple acid reflux ...seems to be a unique thing ...
