Kuldeep -- Re: Belladonna
I recently discovered this forum and have been eagerly reading the archives. I have used homeopathy for 20 years but have not had much success in finding my constitutional remedy.Well not since I had children, now 16 and 13. I had early success with Calc Carb and Nat Mur but after I had children, my focus changed to their health and even though I discussed my case with professional homeopaths, we never found the right remedy that had a profound effect on me. (I'm actually quite healthy and feel that my problems are more mental rather than physical.)
As I read the archives I was intrigued by several posts I read concerning Belladonna and some things seemed to fit me. A few nights ago I took a dose of Belladonna 30C and went to bed. I woke up the next morning thinking I had had the best night's sleep of my entire life. And then all during the day I had the strangest feeling in my "tummy." I think it was calmness. It is hard to describe, but all day I felt so deliciously peaceful -- like if I were a cat I would stretch out for somebody to rub my belly and I would purr.
But the effect only lasted one day and I didn't take anymore until the other night when I had a bad headache. I tried a dose of 30c and got no relief after an hour so I took a dose of 200c. It eased the pain and then I fell asleep and again felt like I had really good quality sleep. (For years I've been waking up in the middle of the night and been unable to fall back asleep for an hour or two or more.)
So Kuldeep, do you think Belladonna is my constitutional? I'd like your advice on potency and repetition, if you please.
And I just want to thank you (and the other homeopaths) who give so much of yourselves and your wisdom to this forum to help so many.

Tragidy with Belladonna is that it must be given secretely to a patient. If you are absorbing yourself Belladonna changes its nature.
Seems like Belladonna is your constitutional remedy and you are stuck with it.
Belladonna is the only thing in the world which shows its effect in a matter of minutes. It is never impotent. It does one thing or other.
Take a dose alternate day. Try Belladonna-30 again.

Belladonna is a very tricky thing and there are many stories associated with it. magicians used it.
It works on the children, I will rather say Belladonna is children's constituinal remedy.
It is a constituinal remedy for children or child like people. It works on the children because they are completely unaware of it.
When I prescribe belladonna to a patient I tell him that look you have pain in your feet or whatever and I am giving you a medicine for only this thing to start your treatment. Belladonna changes its character when a person is looking for some effect.
If a person is unaware and Belladonna works because the moment one is observing his mind, mind changes.
If you are observing your thoughts, thoughts stop or change. This is the principal of belladonna.

I haven't taken any more doses because I am still confused by what you are saying. I was hoping for a remedy to help me focus my mind. I have trouble with concentration and finishing things I start. I was looking for a remedy to help me with that.
I wasn't expecting the Belladonna to help me sleep, but it did. That's why I was optimistic that it may be a good remedy for me, but after what you wrote, I have doubts. I'm not a child, that's for sure.
I know you are very busy, but if you can explain more about Belladonna, I would appreciate it. Are you saying that I was experiencing a placebo effect? Are you saying it is impossible for someone to dose themselves with it and achieve good results?

I'd like to describe the headache from the other night and see if you (or anyone) has any insight. It was left sided but hard to pinpoint where exactly. It was eased somewhat by lying on my left side. It was worse for walking and definitely worse for stooping. What I did when I had to be up and moving around (making dinner!)was grab a handful of hair and pull upward. I was pulling on my hair but also holding my head still.
That pulling the hair to relieve the pain seemed like Belladonna to me, but maybe I'm wrong.
Any thoughts?

Belladonna gives problems in the begining. Later on it works smoothly on the body. Some people get headaches and drugged feeling in the begining. In that case stop the dose and take it after some days.

Hello, I wonder if belladonna may work on a 6-year old boy with a small "red wine stain" on the neck and suffering from epileptic fits during sleep.
