(UK) Message for Joe De Livera

Dear Joe,

I am a 42 yr old male from the UK. I suppose I am a little overweight (15 lbs over, maybe) and I have smoked (10 or less a day) for some years now. I exercise less than I should. I have a bad lower back (some degenerative change, non accident related).

As seems to run in the family, I have suffered from excess wind (permanent) and intermittent acid reflux (undiagnosed officially) for some years. In recent months the acid reflux, although still intermittent) has worsened, especially at night. This has been accompanied by an uncomfortable (as opposed to sore) throat.

My diet is varied and has not been partuclarly poor recently.

(Unrelated - I also appear to have managed to chip a tiny piece of bone off my left elbow and this is floating almost in situ).

Although some of the remedies you mention are not that easily available in the UK, would you recommend Nat Phos? If so, 6c or 6x? Would Arnica help? I can only seem to find Arnica for sale in tablet or topical cream form.

Finally, I have read the side-effects mentioned in the research for Nat Phos, both physical and psychological. Should I be concerned?

Any advice you can give would be gratefully received and I thank you for your time in advance.

Kind regards.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
All Homeopathic remedies are antidoted by smoking in my experience and I will only be wasting my time in trying to help you right now.

If you are prepared to use the therapy I have promoted to QUIT smoking as many have done in a few days, I can take your case.

Your obvious GERD is due to your smoking and it is very likely that if you do quit smoking that your GERD will also be cured.

The remedy I have prescribed is Arnica 30c in the Wet dose which is made as follows:

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in some countries.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle or a large teaspoonful of the remedy is sipped as directed.

You can order Homeopathic Remedies from the ABC store.

Joe,

Many thanks for your prompt response. Having now read a number of your earlier posts re-smoking, I understand the tone of your reply.

I will try your Arnica solution - this seems to be an aid for many ills - and I will keep my fingers crossed that quitting smoking can be achieved and that an improvement in GERD follows! The best laid plans of mice and men, etc........

Kind regards.
