Nosebleeding of a child

My 4,5 years old son's nose bleeds easly. When it starts bleeding, it keeps going on several times a day. Not much at a time though.

I saw a doctor and she said the nose is very dry and maybe that's why it keeps doing it. His hb is 126 and there was no obvious reason why the nose bleeds.

I can't find any remedy to prevent it going on.

Hi Erika,

Thanks for answering.

I have given him Ferr Phos 6x sometimes. I haven't seen any help with it. But I have just given it once every now and then.

If I keep giving it (because I happen to have 6x at home), how often should I give it? Should I give it four times a day, or should I give it four times in the first hour - or what?

you could try 3 x daily to see if it helps. I do not often use x potencies so cannot answer you well on this. I use the 30c in an acute nosebleed situation and it works very well, immediately.

You can use the Ferrum Phos 6x 2-hourly when needed, and give one dose a day. How long does the bleeding last? Does it follow his blowing the nose? Sometimes the capillaries are weak and break easily, but if it isn't prolonged bleeding, not to worry. Ferrum Phos is a great remedy for this.

Hello Erika and Minsa,

I will start giving Ferrum Phos 6x regurarly for some time.

The bleeding often starts because of blowing the nose or because he keeps digging the nose too long. It lasts only a minute or a few. But it can bleed several times a day. Hopefully Ferrum Phos helps the situation.

Hi Murthy,

I checked them out. I feel that arg nitricum or Lachesis could be good. But how am I supposed to know which was better?

My books say that Lachesis-type is worse on the left side. It is mostly my son's right side that bleeds. Does this mean that Lachesis is defenately not the right one, or what?

Here I am again... getting confused with all these small details. You've seen it before...

You can try out kali-bi. It has the clinkers that form in the nose. The bleeding is mainly as a result of attempting to remove the clinkers.

Give him in 30/200 potency, for three days, twice a day and wait.

Ferrrum Phos is a good idea, but I feel indicated when the nose bleeds for no apparent reason.

Hi Murthy,

You are right, the bleeding is often because of attempting to remove the clinkers. Not always though. Blowing the nose is as common reason.

His nose has not been bleeding for a week now. During this time I have given him kali bi 30 c for two days :-) because he was sick and the mucus didn't come out easily from the nose. Maybe that's the reason the nose has not been bleeding for some days...?
I have no remarks in my books that Kali bi would help nosebleeding. I didn't know I was treating that, too. I'll keep checking it.

The reason I got interested in arg nitricum or Lachesis was the mental side. The boy has a hot and hysterical temper and I thought I could treat that one, too. So far Causticum has been helping a bit. Thanks to you.
