Homeopathy tricks you into feeling better, says new study
Homeopathy tricks you into feeling better, even if a tincture prescribed is not genuine, new research says.

Sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis who approached a homeopath experienced significant easing of joint pain, inflammation and other key markers of the disease. Yet, it made no difference whether the solution they received was a genuine homeo tincture prescribed to treat rheumatism, or a placebo, according to the journal Rheumatology.

Sarah Brien of Southampton University, who led the study, said it provided the first scientific evidence to show such benefits were 'specifically due to its unique consultation process'.

The research compared different groups of patients, who were already being given conventional medication for the disease, reports the Telegraph.

Those who had a series of five consultations with a homeopathic doctor experienced 'significant clinical benefits', whether the tincture they received was a specially prepared 'homeopathic' remedy used to treat rheumatism, or a placebo.

Patients given exactly the same remedies without the consultations did not improve.

The findings suggested that simply 'talking and listening' to patients could dramatically assist their health.

George Lewith, professor of health research from the university, said: 'This research asked the question: 'Is homeopathy about the talking, or is it about the medicine?' We found it was about the talking, and indeed about the listening.'

CAN WE BELIEVE THESE STUDIES OR IT IS ANOTHER BAD PROPAGANDA ON HOMEOPATHY BY ALLOPATHY.???????????

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Of course they think it is placebo. When they examine the medicine, they find water and alcohol, or sugar and alcohol. What other conclusion could they come to? They have no understanding of the energetic imprint in the water - most likely would not believe such an assertion anyway. As far as they are concerned, patients improve when given water (placebo) so it must be something else that causes the improvement.

However, all they would have to do is see the effect on an infant, on an animal or on an unconscious person - that would challenge them! Most likely they would come up with another justification for the improvement that fits in with their narrow world view.

I've had several patients who were children, 7-8 months old. For example, with disorders such as eczema, or eye infection, etc. These children have been cured by the use of homeopathy, but it was probably just an illusion? My cat, who had a heart problem, was better after homeopathic treatment, the vet can confirm this. Another illusion? Even plants have been improved with the help of homeopathy.

Such statements, like the one you refer to come from ignorant people. Even if they do not find the energy in these medicines, it does not mean it's not there. This means that the device that can measure such energy, has not yet been invented.

We can observe what happens to a sick man, after taking homeopathic medicine. It is not always a homeopath find the right medication and gives the wrong medicine. But according to this statement, like the one you refer to, the patient should still be healed? Because there is only a matter of placebo. Is this so? No, some patients may actually go to the homeopath for several years until the right remedy is found.

If it were so, should the allopathic doctors use the same 'trick.' Could have saved the patient a lot of money, and side effects of allopathic medicine.

A little girl came to me with an eye injury, ie, the mother got in touch with me. She had been under treatment by a doctor at a hospital for over two years. Not a successful treatment. After taking homeopathic medicine, Symphytum officinale, eye injuries began to heal.

If it is true that homeopathic medicine is made entirely of sugar, water, and alcohol, I suggest that allopathic physicians should make use of the same. Give a teaspoon of water, and the healing has begun ....
