The ABC Homeopathy Forum
1 yr old, severe cavities, general anaesthetic
Dear experts. My 13-month old daughter has today been `diagnosed` as having extensive decay to her four (4) central front teeth.
The dentist wishes as a preferred course of action to put her under general anaesthetic, grind away the decay, and either fill the teeth or, if there`s little left, crown all four teeth.
Not that the cause is necessarily relevant here, but I believe that it is primarily due to food/utensil sharing when she was very young, and was first interested in eating what we were eating; unnatural amounts of fruit juices; lapse dental care; and though the dentist wanted to point at on-demand breastfeeding as the primary culprit, I believe that breastmilk clearly contains antibacterial properties and so is a lessor factor.
I will be reading some old books I found on tissue salts tonight in the hope that something might come up in there.
I`m not being unrealistic, expecting homeopathy to reverse the damage, but I do believe that it is possible to bring a halt to the decay before it gets to nerves.
So with all that being said, suggestions please!
And kindly bear in mind where doses are concerned, that this is for a very young child - just over one year old.
Thank you all.
Rebekah.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I know the anaesthetic you are refering to and its side effects they ask you to agree before delivering.
Give the following two medicines. It is found to be very effective to stop further decay and keep it strong enough till the permanent teeth comes
- Cod Liver Oil tablets, immediately after every food (2 or 3 times a day). If you can get Nordiac Brand, give it.
- Mezerium 6c, 4 tabets, once in the morning, every other day (not daily)
Make sure she brushes every night and morning with non-floride tooth paste. Inject water forcefully to the cavity to displace any food particles stuck there.
Watch you tube on Cure Tooth Decay by Damiel. There is some truth to it. You dont have to follow all his instructions. Mezerium 6 will do the trick
For general instructinos, please see my profile.

I have seen young children in my practice with this kind of problem with their teeth. It can be cured - and when the next lot of teeth grow through they will be healthy.
Many of those children needed miasmatic remedies like Fluoric acid, Mercurius, Syphilinum. This appeared to correct an inherited defect in the teeth.
I would encourage some hope in this situation as our literature has many examples of children whose teeth decay early or even come through decayed, being cured.

Reva V:
Thank you for your suggestions.
I have acquired Norweigian Cod Liver Oil (it is not a capsule, because she is so small it might cause a choking hazard - I bought a liquid form with a lemon flavour to make it easier for her to injest).
I also bought Mezerium 6c.
I noted your dose recommendation and the frequency of every other day. Over how many weeks should I continue the treatment?
brisbanehomoeopath:
Thank you for your encouragement. The dentist had suggested a flouride treatment to my husband, but there seem to be many convincing arguements both for and against such a course of action. I won't go into the details.
I have purchased Tissue (Cell) Salts #1 and #2, and am using a dose of 1 of each salt 3x day for my baby. Please let me know if you feel this is too high or too low, given the alleged advanced nature of this tooth decay.
I am also going to take 2 of each 2x a day for myself.
I am still breastfeeding (though I realised last night that I have some emotional trauma from the dentist blaming my milk, and now feel like my breastmilk is almost like poison. :(
Thank you both again for your replies.

Patient,
Continue Mez 6 for 3 months.
Joe,
This protocol has been tried in very many patients with excellent success. As you know many of the patients in this forum dont realize how important to pay it forward this help by 'writing back' to benefit other patients. You dont have to wait for this patient to write back. You can try this protocol in your patients with unquestionable benefit.

Reva V:
Thank you so much for your confirmation on treatment duration.
To summarise:
I will continue 4x Mezereum 6c every other day for 3 months.
I will also continue Tissue Salts #1 & #2 1x each, 3x day every other week for the same duration (3 months). This is 1/4 of the normal doseage, and was recommended by a homeopath outside of this forum.
Cod Liver oil (1/4 teaspoon) is being administered after each meal.
I will continue to breastfeed my baby, though I am decreasing the incidence of nighttime feeding.
Personally, I am vegetarian, and eat a very high raw fruit/vegetable diet. (We have made an exception for the C.L.O, which we would ordinarily not take.)I drink approx 16 fl. oz. (8 carrots/ 1c. kale/ 2 apples) juice each day, and I aim to eat a large salad (1 head dark lettuce, 4 tomatoes, 4 mushrooms) each evening.
This provides me with high levels of fat soluble vitamins A & K, along with non dairy calcium.
According to the 'Cure Tooth Decay' presentation which you recommended that I watch, 'Phosphorus + Vitamins A, D, E, K' are necessary for good teeth.
As a side note, I was concerned with the very high amount of fat in the diet recommended by Ramiel Nagel, especially as I do not eat meat, so would get a large amount of phosphorus, calcium, and Vitamin E from Sesame and Sunflower Seeds.
I will research this nutritional topic further, and will maintain details (I hope to add pictures) at my blog post hilda(dot)hhandg(dot)com/?p=448 .
I have set a reminder to add follow up on here every month for three months.
Thank you Reva V for your advice, and thank you all for your interest.

Sure. Carrot and Apple together is a gold, as researched by Gerson (www . gerson . org). It is very good and continue. Ramiel's recommendation on meat can be safely ignored. Mezerium itself is completely working and now we are supplementing with Cod Liver Oil. It is enough.

I wanted to post an update, and apologise that it has nearly been 2 months since I last wrote.
It appears that the decay has been slowed down, and possibly even fully arrested.
We have continued the Mezerium every other day (I think sometimes we might have accidentally left it for two days before the next dose), and with the Tissue Salts bi-weekly for one week.
We have also been using a Toothpaste from the UK called Sensishield.
It is reported to harden both enamel and dentine, and is flouride free.
Every few days, I have continued to clean her teeth with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda in an attempt to clean any pitted areas thoroughly.
Her upper molar teeth have come in without any signs of problem, and the further growth on her front top teeth also appear to be clear of any further decay.
As she is getting older, she is more agreeable to letting me access her teeth.
I had a telephone call from the dentist a couple of weeks ago asking which of her two options I had decided to take. I told her that I had taken alternative action, which appeared to have slowed down and possibly arrested the decay.
Today, we received a letter stating that they were terminating our doctor/patient relationship because we were failing to take appropriate action, and encouraging us to find another dentist with whom to pursue treatment.
People with closed minds make me so sad.
I am hoping to be able to send the dentist a return letter in a few years with a picture of my daughter still with her original teeth.
They may be discoloured, but with these alternative treatments, I have great hope that they will only become stronger with time.

Rebekah,
Thanks for the update. I have witnessed in every case that taking Mezerium 6c, on alternate days and Cod Liver Oil, once or twice daily, totally arrest further cavity growth. Stay positive.
Mezerium 6c turns the soft teeth to strong ones and hence no more cavity.
It is not hard to find a dentist, if you need in future. You are not giving business to him and it makes sense to see him sad, not you.

It has now been 4 months since my original post.
The staining on the front of Eliza's teeth appear to have become worse, and there is some pitting now on a tooth that had previously appeared to have a smooth surface.
I have not had her on the tissue salts for the past month, but have continued the mezerium and the oil diligently.
We have been brushing her teeth 3x each day, before she goes to sleep.
She does not have chocolate or candies in her diet - her only sweet foods are fruits.
I cannot understand why this appears to still be progresing despite all of our efforts.
I am starting again with the Tissue Salts today, and will giver her body a break from the mezerium for 1 month.
If you have any other suggestions, I would be grateful.
Thank you again for all of your support.
