For Dr. Kadwa...you've helped me with my daughter in the past. 3yr old with extensive bowel surgeries

Hello again,

I am writing again for assistance with my daughter. She has gone through extensive surgeries for Hirschsprung's and has a handful of other medical issues. My last post was this past March to help remedy the effects of all the radiation she received during her treatments.

Now that she's more stable...I was wondering if you could help me tackle some of her other issues. She responds very well to homeopathy...I'm hoping that I can find something that may help her continue to improve.

Here's what we're dealing with:

- She refuses to eat more than 1 bite of food at a time:

She's had a g-tube six 6wks post birth. From March to Aug 2010 she was eating/drinking orally at a normal rate. We were almost able to wean her off the tube and have it removed, but due to serious post-op complications in August, she's refusing to eat (almost a year now). Physically, she is able to eat, but just not wanting to. She'll take tastes of food, but not any quantity. She is getting all nutrition from PediaSmart organic formula (made specifically as nutritional replacement) through the tube.

- She has speech delays (due to fluid buildup in her ears...and some hearing loss in one ear) (working with Speech pathologist). Had tubes placed. No history of ear infections.

- The left side of her face is hypotonic...she has control over the left side of her face, but not as much strength as on the right side.

- Delay in walking due to the Hirschsprung's issues (she's still not walking on her own...but with the help of a walker.) (working with physical therapy)

- She grinds her teeth

- She despises water (to take a bath)

- She has a history of croup (really, the only 'sickness' she gets)

- She does not like strangers at all. Not sure if this is anything more than being exposed to all the doctors, etc.

- Just recently, she's been having a problem with reflux again (which makes trying to feed her even worse). She did have reflux issues, but it was due to the undiagnosed HD. I've treated her successfully with Nux 30X (2 pills in a few mls of water) which she will take willingly by mouth...she knows it makes her feel better.

I'm not sure what else to add or if I should fill out a questionnaire on her. It's a little difficult since she's pretty much non-verbal. I guess a lot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give her three doses of Sulphur 200 as follows and report back after 15 days (only 3 doses in 15 days).

day 1 morning
1st dose

day 1 evening
2nd dose

day 2 morning
3rd dose

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 1 drop in some 10 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 15 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Thank you...I will be ordering the 200C remedy...no one around my area keeps these in stock.

Thanks again for the assistance, I will get back to you after the 15 day wait time after dosing.

Just an update...I finally received my Sulfur 200 (and my Lyco 200) for a separate issue you're helping me with.

I will begin dosing my daughter tomorrow with the sulfur and I'll report back in after the 15-day wait.

THanks again.

Hello Dr. Kadwa....

I am reporting back after the 15-day wait time regarding the dose of Sulfur 200C. (urgent part is in last 2 paragraphs)

She was dosed as directed. For the first 5 days after dosing, she was exceptionally tired. She slept for long nap periods during the day (2-4 hours) and she would still sleep fully through the night (from 7pm - 7am).

The long naps were out of character for her...usually she would sleep about a 1/2 hr per nap with 1 or 2 naps a day. We are back down to about a 45min nap now.

She did experience some ear pain for the first few days. She ran a fever in her left ear only that maxed out at 100.3F. We gave no medication for it and it went away. There was no infection.

Her demeanor has been really good throughout. A little crabby during the ear issue, but otherwise very happy. Over the last 2/3 days, she began requesting to eat and drink. She's been eating some mushroom soup and drinking her formula (which she hasn't done in months).

However, just yesterday she developed oral thrush and diaper rash thrush. Frustrating because I JUST got the diaper rash skin breakdown rash under control after 6mo!! I don't want the oral thrush to derail her wanting to eat. It has in the past.

Whenever she has gotten the thrush like this, the yeast is throughout her body. The topical creams the pediatrician prescribes (nystatin) don't work. We usually have to dose her with an oral anti-fungal medication. I did give her some acidophilus and I will give her more today. I would really like to avoid a prescription of diflucan if possible. Is there anything you can recommend? I must have an answer quickly before the pain of the thrush derails the eating again.

Thank you...

Please repeat the three doses of Sulphur 200 and report back after 15 days.

Hello,

I am writing to give a 15-day follow up on the 2nd Sulphur 200C dose for my daughter.

We did end up having to give her a round of diflucan to get the yeast under control again. It just progressed too fast and she was extremely uncomfortable (fever, oral thrush and horrible, bleeding diaper rash). Because of the HD, she can spiral into enterocolitis too quickly, and I didn't want to chance it. I am continuing her on the probiotic and she hasn't had a re-occurrence. I will continue her on the probiotic indefinitely to see if it will keep it in check. HD kids are more prone to having gut flora be out of balance.

Her eating volume has improved...approximately 3oz of formula and 6-8oz of soup per day (over 3 meals); however, she still refuses anything other than the mushroom soup (no fruit or savory items that she was eating a year ago).

She is getting excited about seeing food again, and requests it...but I would like her variety to improve a bit. It may just take a little more time.

We have an appointment tomorrow with her endocrinologist and I'm hoping to see an improvement on her height/weight gain.

At this point, there has also been no improvement with her walking at this point. She will stand up and 'cruise' the furniture, but independent walking has not happened. Is there anything that you can recommend that may address her delays? She has the muscle strength and coordination...she will even briefly stand unaided...but when she realizes she's doing it, she will immediately sit down. At this point, it may just be a lack of confidence.

Since my last post, tests have confirmed that she has mild to moderate conductive hearing loss in her left ear (which is probably contributing to her speech delay). On Wed of this week, she will be undergoing tests (a more extensive ABR hearing test, a CT scan of her middle ears and other tests) by the UofM Otolaryngology. She will also have blood draws done to run further genetic tests to see if we can't link all these different issues together.

Also, because she will be undergoing a CT scan...I have another question. I have given her remedies in the past for her extensive exposure to xray radiation...what do you recommend for this round? I am concerned because this will be directed at her skull. I have 200C radium brom. on hand. Is this something that should be given before exposure or after?

I appreciate the time you've taken to help me (I know she's not and never will be a simple case) and I await your opinion for what we should do next.

Thanks again,
Dawn

Please give her three doses of Calc Carb 200 at a gap of 12 hours and see how that affects in next 15 days.

There is no need to give any Radium Brom for the time being.
