Please help me get my hair back!!

Hello. I am a twenty-four year old female suffering from traction alopecia in combination, I believe, with hormonal hair loss caused by birth control pills.

I am certain that the greater amount of my loss is due to the tight hair styles I used to wear. I alternately wore extremely tight braids and/or a weave for a period of about six months. I noticed within that time that my hair was being pulled out at the roots all along my hair line. At that point I desisted from all tension-causing styles. This was about a year and a half ago. I saw a dermatologist about my loss and was assured that, since the trauma to my scalp had not been too prolonged, it should not have caused permanent scarring, and that my hair would come back in about a year's time. It has not. The condition has *improved*, but I am nowhere near to where I used to be. My hair used to be very thick and pretty, though i did not realize much growth (it would stop just past my shoulders), though it actually did/does grow pretty fast. The reason for the lack of length being that i tended to use heat on it, which caused it to be brittle and break easily. Hence, my brief inclination to experiment with weaves and braids.

Around the same time that I began wearing weaves, I started taking a hormonal birth control pill, hoping to alleviate some of my acne troubles. The treatment was ineffective for that which it was prescribed, and after about three months, I also noticed that my center part had widened significantly. I was very concerned, and stopped taking the pills immediately. My center part is not as thin as it was when I first noticed its degradation, but, as with the hair along my hairline, it is nowhere near what it was prior to the incident.

I experience very restless sleep, and rarely sleep straight through the night.

I am in pretty good shape; I exercise often. I have periods when I work out every day for an hour or so, and then I will have long bouts of inactivity, in part because I just feel lazy and apathetic, and in greater part because I am greatly saddened by my hair loss, to the point of being immobilized.

I had been having chronic acne for as long as I can remember, but I began drinking lemon water and taking zinc, evening primrose and an essential fatty acid blend and it cleared up in a few weeks about a month ago. I had not had significant skin problems apart from acne since I was a small child, but about four months ago, I had two skin eruptions which seemed to have been either psoriasis or exzema. One was on my left arm, just below my elbow joint, about four inches by two. It has since subsided. The other remains on my back skewed just left of the center and is about six by six inches. It inches terribly off and on. I have tried tea tree oil, crocodile oil and cortisone cream. It lessens then returns, and will not go away. The development of the rashes seems to have coincided with a particularly stressful period of time. After the sources of the stress were eliminated, my rashes left and improved, respectively. But the latter mentioned rash is not completely gone.

I was diagnosed with acid reflux about two months ago, and told to avoid certain foods, but they are all foods that I love: spicy, fried, dairy, caffeinated. I was doing well avoiding them for awhile, but I weaken sometimes. Most often within the last two weeks.

Also I am both allergic to dairy (it makes me congested and produce excess mucous, and my throat closes up) and lactose intolerant, I.e. i do not digest it well. Realizing that is is foolish to persist in harmful behaviors, I have already curtailed my ingestion of the aforementioned. I only mention them because I do have an appetite for them. One that I feel is abnormally high.

I am not particularly forgetful, but I often allow things to fall through the cracks. That is, I know how to remember, but I often allow myself not to, if that makes sense. I am not extremely motivated. Though I do have goals and pursuits, they do not consume me like they do some others.

Lastly, I was prone to chronic tonsillitis and had my tonsils removed two months ago, after I performed I two shows, one of which ran for several weeks, and both of which were the sources of stress I mentioned.

My throat does not seem to be healing properly because it often feels very closed, especially in the morning. I am concerned about this because I am a singer. I love to sing. It is one of my few great joys in the world, and I find that I am anatomically inhibited from singing the way I could were I to have the full capacity of my throat and nasal passages at my disposal. I neglected to mention that I also had my adenoids removed with my tonsils, as they were also chronically inflamed as a result of my allegies. I had been prone to sinus infections.

So my main concern is with my hair. I would like to know how to get it back. It has been causing me a great deal of depression and anxiety and i have spent literally THOUSANDS of dollars in search of a miracle...

Also, though, my skin eruptions and poorly healing throat and sinuses are of great concern to me. Hopefully this post will find itself in the hands of someone who can help me. I apologize for the length. I was aiming to be as concise as possible without sacrificing thoroughness.

Thank you in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi, you are going to need
a 'constitutional' remedy bc
you have so many things going on.
The Brisbane homeopath -
read some of his cases on here -does that.

But it is always better to go see a
homeopath in person bc the homeopath
can use all the tools in the toolbox,
so to speak, whereas online it is
much harder.

thank you so much for your reply. i'll look into it. to be sure, though, my primary concern is with my hair. the other things i'm sure i can resolve on my own, or will resolve on their own once i introduce some tried and true fixes like unscented detergent, and eliminate some known culprits, like dairy. i only provided info to the extent that i did for the sake of thorughness. they aren't necessarily all relevant. -- actually, i wouldn't think they were relevant at all to my hair loss. more incidental. i don't know if that makes a difference... anyway, thank you again! :-)
