Ignatia

My doc suggested I try 200c Ignatia. Each time I take it I get weepy. Is this the intent? Just curious....

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
What do you mean 'is this the intent'? What question are you asking?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
I'm asking if that is what ignatia is supposed to do. Is it supposed to trigger weepiness? That seems to be the only change I see, I get very weepy.

Choulie last decade
The doc prescribed it because I was depressed and having difficulty expressing my feelings. Rather than cry, I held it in. Hence the recommendation. But, when I take it I just get weepy. I am not sure that's a help or a sign that it's working. I hope this makes sense.

Choulie last decade
Yes it is helping you release.

Ask your doctor, I am sure he will
think this is a good thing. And what
you are weeping about can be so
old that you no longer remember it.

simone717 last decade
Thank you. That's what I needed to know.

Choulie last decade
No that should not be the only sign. You should feel better in yourself, your symptoms should clear up, you should see improvements across the board. Crying or not crying is not a sign of health.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Talk to your doctor and go over what
is going on with you bc he is the one
who has all the information about
everything and that is his job.Obviously
you should have more improvements
and progression.

Thank you. I had the best day today in a long while but am not sure what to attribute that to. I have Lyme disease and have several treatments going. I'm guessing it is a combined effect. I'll take it regardless. And the weeping is within an hour of taking the ignatia where this has been nearly two weeks for the good energy to hit and some symptoms to clear.

I hope your doctor is explaining how
homeopathy works,????

simone717 last decade
I have an understanding of how homeopathics work but....I'm not a trained practitioner and when the only noticeable difference was the crying I wondered what was happening. My doc can't just follow me around answering my questions. I have lots of them. LOL. I was not prepared for the reaction to the ignatia to be so teary.

Is the doctor a homeopath?

how often did he tell you to take the 200c?

Usually homeopaths on here, say take
a 200c once or they say take it 3 days
in a row and then watch for 15 days.

The good scenario is people have old
things come up ( aggravation) and then
start to feel better mentally first which
is called right direction of cure.

And then people check back in with
homeopath 3 days to 7 days to two
weeks after to report what is going on.

simone717 last decade
She said every couple of days to take one to see what happened. She is an ND and Chiropractic Internist with training in homeopathics. I see her every six weeks and will report back then.

Choulie last decade
I am sure the brisbane homeopath
will weigh in on this. ND and Chiro
people don't have the in depth training
on using remedies.

Usually when you aggravate you stop the
remedy and when you feel better you
stop the remedy. Bc the remedy is
working on you. You wait and watch to
see the changes and leave it alone then
till you feel you are going backwards,
when you would take the dose again
and again wait and watch.

so I would say - don't take anymore
right now. It may be that it aggravated
and now you are feeling mentally
improved. You leave it alone now
and note how you are doing.

Don't know where you are- as far
as having a real homeopath take your
case in your area. but I think that needs to be done if possible. second
best , have someone on here take
your case.

Yeah I have to say it is unlikely she has received more than a few weeks or months training in homoeopathy. It is a 3-5 year degree in most countries, due to its complexity. Not only that but naturopaths and chiropracters do not share our most basic philosophical principles, so it is hard to say if she is even giving that remedy for the correct reasons.

You may just be getting a side effect of the medication. That is usually because it is incorrect or being given in too strong or frequent a dose.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
I will check with her to see how much training she has had. I believe it was the correct remedy for the situation. We did have a great homeopath but he has lost his license and is no longer practicing. Sad. The state medical board here is not open to alternatives. Anything other than a MD is given a lot of grief. Very sad indeed.

If it was correct you would have experienced a marked improvement by now. A remedy will aggravate within a few days, and show positive improvements after the first week, probably peaking around 2-3 weeks. Aggravation must be followed by improvement if the remedy is to be considered well-selected. A single dose of 200c should make you feel much better.

Improvement should be seen not only in the mental and emotional state, but in the physical symptoms as well. While all symptoms may not improve at the same rate, you should see improvements in many of them - at least half.

Qualified homoeopaths make wrong choices too - it is no big deal as long as they are able to see that, and change treatment accordingly.

I would just hold off on using the remedy any further until it can be assessed properly.

I created a thread some time ago to help people understand what to expect from homoeopathy, and how to judge the various reactions they are getting.

This is a link to that post

Thank you. What an informative post. Very helpful. Next question: are there risks in over dosing?

I feel significantly better today and had the best day I've had in a long while both mentally and physically. My energy is up, my outlook is good, I was focused and able to process and sequence while performing tasks. But, how do I know this is the homeopathic and not the other medications?

Choulie last decade
Well there you go. That is the reaction you would expect from a remedy. It is important at this stage to stop and wait until your practitioner can assess you, to see what the next step is.

Taking more than you need of the remedy can do nothing, aggravate the symptoms you just got rid of, neutralise the good reaction you have experienced, can create new symptoms, and can even stimulate diseases that are currently hidden or quiet.

If you have been given multiple medicines, then yes you will not know for sure what has done what. This is why we have the principle of the single remedy in homoeopathy, to allow us to clearly assess the usefulness of every aspect of treatment.

You said you had Lyme and depression.
Would be interesting to know what
all is being taken, if you want to post
the treatment.

Thank you for all the posts. Currently I'm taking Ceflacor 250 mg capsule twice a day (morning and evening) and doxycycline 50 mg once a week. I also take 15 mg armour in the evening and 30 mg armour in the morning (both away from food) and progesterone-dhea 200-20 mg 1/2 troche each evening (so half dose) and biest-test 2-2 mg (2:8)1/2 troche (again so 1/2 dose)each morning. Both of those are also taken away from food. In addition I take Porphyra-Zyme 6 per day each evening to clear mercury and lead as well as Transfer Factor multi-immune and other vitamin supplements including Iodoral, B vitamins (B complex, B2, B3, B6), zinc, magnesium, selenium, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, Taurine, CoQ10, phospatidyl choline, Thorne Cortrex, and Thorne Methyl-Guard, Thorne 5-MTHF, and fish oil.

I am not on any other homeopathic remedies. The desire to cry has remained along with a deep sense of loss. I am highly educated but am no longer really able to work much. I work two part time casual jobs that add up to about 20 hours a week total. I have memory, processing, sequencing problems, and generally some cognitive issues (place things in the freezer or oven that should not be there, forget the stove is on and walk away, forget what I'm doing from one minute to the next), some neuro problems (dropping things, loss of balance, loss of coordination), and fatigue that just is oppressive, and loss of motivation. Swollen lymph nodes frequently, headaches occasionally, neck discomfort often, joint pain...the usual list of Lyme symptoms.

Choulie last decade
I have been journaling to deal with the sense of loss.

Choulie last decade
Well perhaps David will have a comment
on how to treat Lyme and the rest of
your totality with the homeopathy.

You have quite a lot going on medication
wise.
