This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Ignatia may be used, and is used by both men and women. But there is a predominance of women in relation to this medication.
romantic
hysteria
Sensitivity
Traumatic experiences, heartbreak.
Etc., etc., are some of the symptoms that fit Ignatia.

One of the most commonly used homeopathic remedies, particularly in Western countries.

I believe it this idea is based on the idea that women are more hysterical than men, and so Ignatia suits women better.

The idea sits uneasily with me as it seems a outdated gender prejudice, and I have seen as many Ignatia men as women in clinic.

Maybe it's more hysterical men in Australia than it is elsewhere in the world? ;-)

Unlikely. There is a male-culture here of not discussing feelings and making light of emotional issues. The 'aussie bloke' doesn't cry, doesn't talk about what goes on inside, is practical and is very 'macho'.

And this is exactly the other side of the hysterical Ignatia. One must never get railroaded into seeing a remedy in only one way.

Firstly, what I wrote was meant as a joke.
Secondly, this macho stuff is not something unique to Australia, the same here in Norway, and many other places in the world. You have to look far before you find more introverted people and Macho than what you find here in the Nordic countries.
For example, who was the first man to the South Pole? And his opponent, where did he come from? He died in his attempt to beat a Norwegian? He he :-)

To be a little more serious, I think such a hysteria that we are talking about, in reality it comes from a form of over-sensitivity. One might ask, where does this condition come from?
Well, I think it has to do with a kind of 'macho' attitude. Or more correctly: a form of self - protection, to avoid being hurt. They are stuck with their feelings, unable to express themselves. Sighing and moaning, breathing heavily. Bad temper. Typical signs of Ignatia, which I like to call it, trapped emotions. So, perhaps this remedy fits well in the macho country Australia?
Another thing I have discovered with this remedy, is that it is well suited to people who have drunk too much, and regret the next day. Why I drank so much, why did I do this and why I said it, etc. People with a bad conscience.

And of course, in many other cases. Perhaps especially in cases involving heartbreak, divorce. and similar traumatic experiences.

Ok, have a nice, macho?, day.:-)

Only if the remedy is specifically selected for you by a homoeopath based on your entire case. Have someone take your case and they can determine what remedy you might need.

The best way to get rid of your bad conscience, is to stop this bad habit. Sometimes you have to make an effort yourself. Obviously you lack self-control, so it's something you have to work on.

Sorry, but I do not think that homeopathy should be used in such a manner. Take a few pills and everything is in order. Nope, self-control is the key to your problem.

You sound like, for me, a pretty normal guy. I do not think it's so unusual to have such feelings, and dreams. Especially at your age and situation.
Get yourself a good wife, many things will get better. ^^
