4 month old with dairy aversion

I have discovered my 4 month old son has a dairy aversion through my breastmilk. Initially we thought it was acid reflux and the pediatrician put him on 'baby' zantac. I gave him that for several weeks and it did not help him any. Then, recently I did a 3 day juice to assist with clearing up the candida in my milk ducts. When I reintroduced greek yogurt into my diet his pains began again - that is how I figured out it was more of an indigestion issue and aversion to the dairy. I am in the process of phasing dairy out of my diet; however, if goat's milk does not work, is there a remedy I can give him until I find an appropriate dairy substitute that will work for my entire family? He is a healthy and otherwise happy baby, although we still have a hard time getting him comfortable and he really has to work at getting his bowel movements out (not constipation just has to be in the correct position). He also has problems burping.

My pregnancy with him was a pleasant one and his labor was extremely fast - 5 pushes and he was here.

Thank you

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It is very likely that your baby suffers from Gastric Reflux aka GERD (Gastro Esophagal Reflux Disease)

The remedies that have proved to be very effective for Baby GERD are:

Nat Phos 6x dose half tablet dissolved in milk given immediately after a feed

Arnica 30c in the Wet dose given twice daily. Half teaspoonful is a dose.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.

You will STOP all other drugs prescribed for baby which as you have already seen have not done any good.

Please confirm that you burp baby immediately after each feed.

You will avoid eating all food that can cause any distress to baby. You must know that they are passed on to baby through your breast milk.

You (the mother) will take Nat Phos 6x dose 2 tablets after each of 3 meals daily and Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken twice daily. The idea is that your milk will pass the effect to baby. You may like to know that this remedy will also help to reduce your weight by 1kg per week very safely.

Report progress in 24 hours and as often as you wish on this thread .

Hello. Is there another option for administering the Nat Phos - I do not bottle feed him. May I mix it with water and give to him through a Numi-Med dispenser? Also, the tablets I have are the lactose based ones that dissolve easily, and I cannot cut them in half. How should I go about giving them to him?

I have already stopped administering the baby zantac. I do attempt to burp him after each feeding; however, sometimes I can try to burp him for up to 30 min with no luck. It is like his burps are deep inside his chest and refuse to come out. The same is for his stools - I know he has to go; however, I think there is just too big of gas pockets for him to push it out.

Do you think goat's milk will have the same adverse effects on him? It distresses me to see him so uncomfortable, and I would not want to eat anything else that will continue him to have such discomforts.

I do like being to lose the 1kg a week as I have struggled with my weight since the birth of my first child.

I will report progress once I have purchased the Arnica 30c wet dose as all I have his the 6c sugar pellets.

Thank you

How do I research it? Any suggestions?

I found the Arnica I have and it is indeed 30c; however, it is in sugar pellet form. Is there any way I can make this into the liquid form myself or do I have to purchase the liquid form of the arnica 30c?

Also, if the Nat Phos/Arnica combination will cause weightloss in me, will it also result In weightloss for my child?

Homeopathy is based on the following tenets:

Single medicine -- Never 2 remedies at a time.
Similar medicine -- Medicine chosen according to similarity of disease symptoms to those it can engender in healthy people.
Minimum dose -- Just enough dosing to stimulate the vital force in the right direction. Once response starts, further dosing is useless and can be harmful.

Any advice which violates above is not 'homeopathic'. Unfortunately, a large chunk of the advice on this forum can fall into 'not homeopathic' category.

This in answer to your queries about the administration of the 2 remedies I have prescribed which you have used for just under 24 hours.

Nat Phos 6x. Please verify that you are using the Biochemic Cell Salt which is always supplied in tablet form. If your stock is a round pellet it is possible that it is not the Cell Salt. You can inquire about its classification from the vendor or it may be printed on the label.

There is no objection to dissolving the tablet in water which you can give him in any manner. I do not know what the Numi-Med dispenser is.

I do not have any experience with feeding a baby goat's milk and cannot therefore comment. Since goat's milk is not formulated for babies, it is very likely that it will not have the essential ingredients to feed a baby.

I note that you have stopped the Zantac which can have serious side effects not only to babies by to Adults. You can do a Google search under : 'The danger of taking PPI drugs' to read more about the inherent danger of using them in the long term.

There is absolutely no chance of the weight of your baby being affected by the Nat Phos 6x.

I have specified that you must use the Liquid Dilution of Arnica 30c to make the Wet dose with just 3 drops in a 500ml bottle of spring water. The 'sugar pellets' you refer to are not of any use.

I note that another Homeopath has warned you:

Please note that I have prescribed the same therapy to many mothers on this ABC forum and on my own Website www.joedelivera.com.
My therapy is by no means HARMFUL and if you feel so you are advised to STOP using it and take advice from this other detractor who is a classical homeopath judging by the data he has listed in his last post.

I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE to classical Homeopathy as my own 'Joepathy' has withstood the acid test of time for the last 10 years and is a labour of love dedicated to helping suffering humanity. The difference in my therapy is that Joepathy CURES while in the case of classical Homeopathy, their practitioners only PONTIFICATE.

It must be clearly understood that you cannot use the therapy from 2 Homeopaths.

Hello Joe- I am enclosing a picture of the remedies that I have in my possession.

Regarding goat's milk- I was referring to if it was ok for me to drink it or if you thought it was also going to bring digestive grief to my child throught breastmilk- sorry about the confusion.

I have placed an order for the liquid dilution of arnica in the meantime.

I think my picture was too large in size; however, the Nat Phos 6x that I possess is made by Hylands and the side reads 'Natrum Phosphoricum 6x HPUS in a base of Lactose, N.F.'

The arnica Montana 30c I have is manufactured by Boiron and is round and has sucrose and lactose listed as inactive Ingredients.

Suggest you verify if the Nat Phos 6x is the Biochemic Cell Salt or the Homeopathic product which is not of any use.

There is no objection to your consuming the goat's milk if you feel that it can help both you and baby.

Hello. So you are saying that the homeopathic Nat. Phos is of no use? Where can I purchase the biochemic cell salts - through this website?

Here is an update: I have stopped all cow's milk dairy products (except butter), and he has not had any of the pains he was having. He does still have burping issues and gas build up. I am only drinking goat milk or coconut milk products. My son is also teething, so I have given him chamomilla 30x to assist in reducing his irritability. I have also used a compounded teething gel made my Hyland that contains calcarea phosphorica 12x, chamomilla 6x, coffea cruda 6x, belladonna 6x

Will any of these act as antidotes for anything? Is there anything I can give him for his gas/inability to burp? He is always uncomfortable and wiggling around and is never comfortable in any position we put him in or anything we put him in (bassinet, swing, lying on bed, propped up in bed, or even a carrier where I can wear him either on my front or back.)

We will presume that the Nat Phos 6x is the Biochemic Cell Salt if it is in tablet form and NOT in little pellets about 3mm ø.

Add Nux Vomica 30c in the Wet dose and you will give baby about quarter teaspoonful thrice daily and report progress.

Hello Joe

Sorry it's been so long; however, I am still waiting on my Arnica wet dose order to arrive. I can therefore not say I I have made any progress with the situation other than he seems to be better with just the Nat Phos and me taking the Nat Phos. He is still doe what having a hard time getting his gas out; however, it is better than before. Hopefully I will have more to report once the wet dose Arnica arrives.

Glad to learn that baby has responded to the Nat Phos 6x alone without the Arnica and the Nux Vomica.

You can give him the Arnica when it arrives but the Nux V is not indicated for him now.

Joe De Livera last decade
What I meant was that you do not need to give him Nux Vomica now.
