nosebleeds & sinus

For quite some time I have been having problems with my sinuses. Just lately they have been severely blocked. No discharge at all just a feeling of being totally stuffed up and unable to breath. Two weeks ago I started a new treatment, I couldn’t find anything that really matched so I bought a combination treatment for sinus congestion…. Calc 2x, Hydrastis 3x, Kali Bich 3x and Pulsatilla 3x. I took a dose 3 times on the first day, twice on the second and once each on the following 2 days. That was all. I was feeling a little less stuffed up but nothing drastic. Then at the end of the week I had a nose bleed. In the past week I have had four more. There seems to be a lot of very large clots – if that’s what they are. Yesterday I had trouble getting it to stop, i bled for an hour, there was loads of “clots” and some stringy stuff too but my sinuses do feel clearer afterwards.
Could this be my sinuses clearing out? Is this what happens if you get the remedy right?
Would somebody with experience care to comment.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi,

This can happen with combo remedies bc you never know
exactly what is doing what. Don't take anymore of it.
Effects of what you took should wear off. If in another
week you are not back to normal regarding nose bleeds
and stuffiness then post again and fill out the answers
to the form, http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/188925.

btw, if you never had nosebleeds before this is from
one of those remedies being wrong. If you have had
them before, then it is too much of one of those remedies
causing an aggravation. Either way this should wear off
over time.

If your sinus is getting clear after bleeding, it means the medicine is working.

For the time being you dont need to repeat the meficine. Just give it some time to work completely.

Thank you both for responding. I haven't taken any meds since those first doses. For the moment at least the bleeding has stopped, I do feel better though it still feels precarious. I've never seen or read anything on sinus clearing so I was a little worried about the bleeding, if it was normal or not. I will just wait it out and see.

The very next day after my last posting all hell broke loose. I had a really bad nosebleed that started late evening and just would not stop, it was just gushing out. I ended up at the emergency room where they cauterized a tear in my nose. I am hoping it is over now but hardly dare say. When I blow my nose I still get blood but it isn't fresh, likewise I have post nasal drip. I am still breathing better. I have to follow up with my doctor to make sure there is nothing serious going on here.
I felt it had to be connected to my sinuses because it has made a difference but I'm still not sure if all this is a normal clearing out or not. It's been very scary.

Hi Winnie,

Have you ever had nosebleeds before?

Have you ever had cuts or wounds that would not stop bleeding?

Are you on any kind of other medications? such as Warfarin which
thins out the blood?

If you cut or pricked your finger now, would there be bleeding and no
clotting ?

It is best to do one remedy at a time and also have someone supervise
you on dose and potency.

Pulsatilla has symptoms of nose bleeding and chest hemorrage and bloody
expectoration.
Kali Bich has ulcers and scabs in the nose symptoms, excess of blood
and fluid symptoms. It sounds like you were having proving symptoms
of one or more of these remedies.

Simone:

You are very much right. But the problem is 3x is such a potency which hardly create any proving symptoms and that too only 7 doses.

It could be that the patient is very much oversensitive.

Now what I found out calc and kali bich are inimical to each other (might be the reason for such a strong reaction). Any comments?

Do you think taking some strong coffee would be helpful in this case.

Simone,
I am not on any other medications at all.

Hi Winnie,

If this is from the combo, it will wear off. I am concerned
that your blood is not clotting properly.

Do you think that is still the case, or have you asked the
Doctor about this? how to test that?

Has this ever gone on before?

Mani jee- yes, I agree, I think this patient is very sensitive and
I think drinking some coffee may help.

I'm not sure that clotting is the problem, I had enormous clots along with the nosebleed, however it seems to have settled down now. I haven't been able to get an appointment for the doctor's follow up yet but they don't seem very worried about it or they would have fitted me in I would think.
I've never had anything like this before. I do live in a very arid region which is what the ER people pout it down to although I have been here for 20 years so you would think I would have had problems before now.

Hi Winnie,

Good to know you never had it before. Then I would say you
are very sensitive and don't take anymore combo remedies.

It would probably be best to see a homeopath in person and let
them know how sensitive you are. After you see the doctor again
and if you still have sinus issues, and cannot go to a homeopath,
you can post about it on here, and get supervision. Glad you are
ok!

Best,
