10year old daughter with eczema symptoms Page 3 of 4

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This could mean that the cause of this eczema is a physical irritant that she is constantly being exposed to. That's why the symptoms are returning after getting relieved.

We will find out the answer in a few days once we repeat a few more doses.

Was her response to the last dose same as this one exactly or was it different slightly.

Another update, she has just returned from school and her eyes have started to swell up, very similar to the pictures I sent before.
Looking pink dry and swollen.
Same symptoms every time but today it's with added swelling and also her neck looks much drier and darker than usual, scaly and weepy.

Mood and emotion is fine
Appetite etc fine

Oops the website connection was playing up sorry for the double post.
Also do I give her some anti histamine to keep the swelling down as I think it might get worse?

Saj22 last decade
Does she take food from home or buy from school.

Where are you located.

Does she go to the same school as your younger one.

fitness last decade
She only has home made food, sandwiches, fresh fruit water, no change in her diet.
West Midlands in the uk is where we live.
No different school but around the corner from my little one,
We try and give them more spring water to drink as the water is hard in this area.

When she took her first 2 doses her eyes were already red and dry and they had swollen through the night, by morning they were very swollen.
After the 3rd dose she has same symptoms but this time the eye has swelled up during the day time.
Hope that helps, very confusing sorry

Do you think it could be e45 emollient cream that she has used on and off to keep her eyes and neck dry?
Maybe there is something in it that causes it, do you think it's possible she is allergic to some of its ingredients?
I will stop her using it for now and see what happens.

I appreciate the time and effort you are putting into getting this sorted, hopefully we get to the bottom of it and it clears up for good.

I am still not clear about a few things as follows:

Can you relate the use of e45 cream to the aggravations?

Before this last dose, were her eyes/neck fine or already aggravated to some extent.

What happened after giving this last dose, please tell day by day.

How many times has this cream been used in these two weeks.

During the use of homeopathic remedies, please don't use anything else without informing me as we might be going in circles without knowing what is causing what.

It's just a moisturising cream given by the doctor to soften dry skin, it's widely used.
When she is feels her skin is dry and flaky she uses it to soften and moisturise.
We have been using it for about three weeks since her symptoms started.

Before this last dose, were her eyes/neck fine or already aggravated to some extent.
Yes they were 60% aggravated , on Monday her eyes were starting to become dry and pink around the surrounding area again, also her dark scaly dry neck symptoms were returning, that is why I emailed you and last Tuesday night she took one dose as you prescribed.
But they were much better Wednesday morning.
FYI she went on a school trip Wednesday morning, was excited to go, looking forward to it.

What happened after giving this last dose, please tell day by day.
Last dose taken Tuesday night, eyes were dry and pink, neck was dry and starting to get scaly.
Wednesday morning woke up happy, symptoms were much better, eyes looked 90% better neck looked 70% better.
Remained similar until Saturday night looked a little dry so she moisturised a couple of times.
Sunday looked a little more drier both neck and eye area.
Monday morning (today)scaly neck and red dry eyes both 20% than previously. Moisturised before school and used oilatum moisturising cream at school.
Today afternoon came back from school symptoms looked more aggravated than this morning, swollen eyes and surrounding area,
Skin on neck looks darker and thicker not weeping.
Now evening, skin looks very pink and aggravated, down to her cheeks, feeling sensitive and face feels heavier due to swelling.

How many times has this cream been used in these two weeks.
On and off nearly every day or two, if her skin feels dry then she will use it, otherwise when it feels normal and healthy she won't use it.

During the use of homeopathic remedies, please don't use anything else without informing me as we might be going in circles without knowing what is causing what.

Ok I have stopped her using it, in the meantime what can I use to keep her skin soft? She doesn't like flaky skin on her eyes and neck esp if she is at school, as children notice and it makes her feel uncomfortable.
I'm sorry I did not realise that moisturising cream would interfere with homeopathic remedies.
Also can I give her antihistamine for the swelling?

Saj22 last decade
Please give her a dose, just one dose and report back at least on a daily basis so that I can nail what's going on.

Petroleum jelly is a good option. Second is St. Ives Oatmeal Butter, but only when necessary.

If you can resist for a couple of days that would be great.

You can use antihistamine only when absolutely necessary as this time around we will try to control it with the right dosage of remedies only.

Thank you
I have just given her 1dose now, I will update you tomorrow morning, hopefully she will feel better by then, I will give you daily feedback also.
It is like a vicious cycle and it does bring her down, hopefully she will have a good nights sleep and recovery soon.
I really appreciate and value your advice, as we have been going through this every two years.

With Regards

Tuesday morning update
Last night she went to bed with a cold face towel on her eyes and face as swelling was still there and face and neck was feeling warm and irritable, fell asleep around 9.30pm only to wake up at 12.30pm worried her neck was weeping and her eye area was hurting and tight. Was swollen more that before so I had to give her antihistamine to get her through the night, also put Vaseline around her neck looked dark scaly and weeping. She settled into a sleep until 7.30 this morning.
Woke up feeling very down and worried.
Swelling around eyes 35%
Redness around eyes 15% left
Dryness around eyes 20%
Dark dry skin around neck 5%
Overall neck 70% better
Over all eye area 40% better
After reassurance/comfort/good cry her mood went from 90% depressed/sad to
95% happy and content.

Was worried and emotional as to why it keeps happening again and again, I told her it was much better than before and she would slowly recover, she felt better and got over it and was determined to go to school and fight it. Much stronger and positive since yesterday.
I moisturised all the dryness on the neck and eyes area with petroleum jelly.
I will update you in the afternoon when she returns from school.

Saj22 last decade
Thanks for the update. We will observe for now.

Update Tuesday afternoon after school.
Eyes nearly 90% better
Swelling almost gone, slight dryness left.
Neck 70% better
Still slightly thick dark and dry
Emotion 90% happy relaxed content

Saj22 last decade
Could this all improvement be because of antihistamine dose?

If the symptoms start returning, please give her a dose of Cal-C and report back, maybe this way we will know if its Cal-C or something else.

fitness last decade
The anti histamine only settles the eyes from swelling as far as I know,
She didn't take any anti histamine last time just the Calc carb and there was an instant improvement.
I will keep you posted everyday anyway.

Saj22 last decade
Please keep me posted as much as required.
