month 2 of effexor withdrawls, when will it end?

I am in my 2nd month of effexor withdrawls and am trying to taper off of them by opening the capsule and taking less and less every week. it's not working! I just got married in July and am on the verge of losing my husband because i am such a mess. i have 3 kids of whom i have no patience for. i've been mean, extremely moody, emotional, sick to my stomach, dizzy, etc. i can't go on like this.....my doctor has been of no help and i'm not sure what to do at this point? has anyone tried the GNC cleansing formula, or anything else that will get the drug completely out of your system without going through months of withdrawls? also, has anyone gained weight while on the drug? it says it may decrease appetite, but i have been 15lbs heavier ever since i've been on it!!???

Mamamason, there is a wonderful forum here that is now 50 pages long with chronicles about getting off the E. It has been harder for some than others. You need to go to that site and read what other people have done, and even show it to your husband (who needs to be more understanding). Getting off the E is not easy, I am now 2 months free after taking 4 months to wean off it and I am still having some problems. Check out the other thread. - Sheila

I have been off effexor for approx. 2 months after taking a month to tapper off of 350mg. My withdrawl symptoms are horrible I have been wondering why my body feels like it is falling apart. I did not feel any real withdrawl problems in the begginning but they seem to be popping up in heaps; confussion, memory loss, electrical pulses in my feet, word recall problems, sick feeling in my head, and insomnia. During the year and half that I was on Effexor I had absoultly no energy and felt like crap every day, so I would not recomend this junk or anything like it to anyone; what ever happened to the day when the feeling of sadness or depressed brought on some talk theropy like cousellling??? Research your meds. before taking them
