Persistent verrucas/warts

Hello. I am currently trying to get to the bottom of the persistent warts and verrucas I have and having already tried many of the over-the-counter and natural remedies I feel stuck. I have an inkling that I probably need to think about constitutional treatment as I have had them in the past also (as a teenager). My 6 year old son has also developed them and I would like to also find a homeopathic remedy suitable for him. Any thoughts or advice greatly received. Thanks you.

Thank you so much for your response to my query. I will answer your questions as best as I can.

I am female, 37 years old and a full-time housewife. I have a fairly active lifestyle with young children, I exercise regularly and like to eat healthily. I have much focus on self-improvement but never quite feel I can achieve this.

1. My main suffering at present is multiple plantar warts and verrucas. I have a cluster on the ball of my left foot (the originating site), a large single one on the heel of my right foot and a couple on my fingers (round nails).

2. Soreness of right hip joint sporadically, which I think is posture related. It is not worsened by physical activity but comes and goes and generally eases after movement. I feel I am always a little overweight and find it extremely difficult to shift the excess.

3. I feel frustration at the sore joint. Humiliated, embarrassed and plagued by the verrucas and frustrated that the treatments to date have not worked. Feelings of hopelessness.

4. Feeling useless. Like people are thinking 'I told you so' - that alternative medicine wouldn't work, for example. I can physically feel a raise in heart rate and blood pressure and will often flush (face). A mixture of shame and anger.

5. My memory is hazy but I think I can trace back to school days, approx age 13, I was feeling like a failure at school. Demotivated. A very average student without making much effort. I felt that my parents gave up on me academically and weren't encouraging. They just accepted that I wasn't going to excel at anything. The other possibly significant event may be that my family relocated (a big distance) when I was age 9. It was a very stressful time, especially for my mother. She suffered much anxiety and some depression during this period.

My memory is not very good, infact I think I may lock away memories that are painful or uncomfortable. I have always felt fat, despite being very average. My mother and grandmother remarked on my weight at various points, they felt I ought to be slimmer as I lead a healthy lifestyle. I have always taken regular exercise in an attempt to control it.

6. I am not very sociable in the mornings. I need time to get ready and wake up on my own. I prefer to stay home in the evenings rather that socialise, and often find excuses not to attend events. I am happiest in my role as a mother and homemaker. It is the one thing I have always known I could and would be competent and confident at.

7. The verrucas/warts seem very benign and don't itch or hurt but they mentally irritate me. I don't like to wear tight clothes as I feel they draw attention to my body. Expectations and pressures on me to perform hugely aggrevate my emotional suffering. I don't cope well with pressure at work, socially or at home and often feel overwhelmed by my task list.

8. Hormones and menses have always been normal and regular. I have become more emotionally aware since motherhood. I cry more easily at happy or sad news, perhaps even more so around menstruation.

9. I am always happier in spring and summer. I love the sunshine and feel very motivated on a warm sunny day. I don't mind the cold but find wet or damp conditions miserable.

10. I am quite a moody person. I am suspicious but strongly trust my instincts about character and am often proved correct. I am easily offended, especially by those close to me. I do not like being consoled, I tend to be suspicious of support offered. I am sensitive to smells and don't like a lot of noise unless it is music of my choosing. I do weep easily. My eyes water at the slightest emotion.

I have a lot of friends but tend to keep them at arms length. I don't want them to see my flaws, which links to my morning and evening states.

Similarly with my husband I do not readily accept his affection. I almost feel unworthy. I will dwell on my flaws and make excuses.

11. Fears. I am afraid of deep water and despite learning to swim as a child I avoid situations that require me to get into water. I used to dream about my children drowning but now they can swim this has stopped. I am afraid of motorway driving and avoid it at all costs.

I dream about uncomfortable relationships (especially my mother in law, who does not approve of choices I have made for my family and is very critical). Similarly I will dream repeatedly about difficult situations as they arise.

12. Cravings: bitter, salty, savoury mainly. Red wine in evenings. Chocolate during menses. Soups, stews and warm, comforting meals.

Aversions: shellfish, cow's milk, soft or melted ice-cream, slimy foods.

13. Normal thirst. I drink approx 2 litres water and additional hot drinks each day.

14. I rarely feel truly hungry but eat habitually at mealtimes.

15. I cannot eat white fish, quorn, large quantities of mushrooms. All give me stomach cramps several hours later. I avoid wheat and gluten largely as it bloats me and causes constipation.

16. Normal sweat levels, mainly from head. Smells acidic.

17. Regular bowel movements, so long as gluten avoided. Soft, easy, not too smelly.

18. Sleep is disturbed by anxieties and is restless.

19. No. Very little sexual desire.

20. Unsure.

21. Antibiotics taken for repeated tonsilitis as a teenager. Verrucas followed and cleared up after a couple of years.

Antibiotics taken approx 5 years ago to treat perioral dermatitis (rosacea?). Tonsilitis followed antibiotics and was treated with homeopathic remedy, unfortunately can't remember which remedy (something phos?). Further verrucas appeared following this and have not yet shifted.

22. There are many allergies in my family. Dairy, gluten and wheat, fish, shellfish, dust mites. Ailments such as coeliac disease, IBS, eczema, psoriasis are prevalent. Grandfather (maternal) had alzeimhers. Grandfather (paternal) had heart surgery aged 75. Grandmother (maternal) has macular degeneration and diverticulitis.

23. Petite build, but curvaceous. Roundish face. Fair hair and complexion, blue eyes. Slouched posture unless consciously making effort to stand tall.

24. Regular menses. Some discomfort in thigh muscles and left breast, mild back ache, but all very bearable. Can be irritable during ovulation.

25. No serious illnesses just the following common ailments:
German measles aged 8/9.
Chicken pox aged 11/12.
Tonsilitis several times aged 13/14.
Verrucas aged 13 - 16.
Perioral dermatitis 5 years ago.
Tonsilitis 5 years ago.
Verrucas persistently for 4/5 years.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my case. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on my condition. Kind regards.

Please take a single dose of CALCAREA CARBONICA 1M first thing in the morning. Take 3 drops of remedy with some 10 ml of water in empty stomach. Go back to sleep for another two hours so that you don't end up eating, drinking or brushing teeth just after taking the dose.

This is to be done on a single day only.

Wait and watch your warts for the next one month. Repeat the dose once a month,if they don't all dry up in a month.

You can contact me after a month in case you don't see absolutely any change in your warts.

Thank you for your swift response. I am very grateful to you for your time and consideration.

I will need to order the remedy today so it will be a few days until I can take the dosage.

I feel optimistic that I might have more success with the remedy you have suggested.

Kind regards.

BTW, since you mentioned about constitutional treatment, let me you CALC CARB is your original homeopathic constitution.

Some people cannot respond well to strong expectations of our peers and family members to overcome our shortcomings. As a result, we become a bit introverted and closed. This means we get some NATRUM traits in our personality.

So, you can look up these two remedies and keep them handy at home. I guess you will need them in the future.

Dear Rishimba,

Just to clarify regarding the remedy. I wan to ensure I am ordering the right form and potency.

Do I want the Calc Carb 1m in the form of oral liquid or mother tincture? Will a 10ml bottle be adequate?

Many thanks.

zoezest last decade
CALC CARB 1M is available in the liquid as well as pellet form.

I suggest buy the liquid form remedy of a reputed Make. A 10ml bottle will do.

You will need to take 3 drops out of it for each dose.

Thank you. I will order a 10ml bottle of Calc Carb liquid.

I will also look into the Natrum remedy as you suggest, thank you for this additional information. This definitely describes me!

I have been attempting to look into my constitution but I did find it confusing as I could see other traits. You have helped me to clarify this.

I am feeling ever more optimistic and feel I can begin to understand myself better with this new information. Thank you again. I hope to report back with positive news.

Hello again Rishimba.

I am just wondering, if I was to buy some Nat mur also, what potency would you suggest, for occaisional use when life is especially demanding, for example?

Much obliged.

zoezest last decade
You could buy 30C and 200C potency and keep them at home.

In case you want to take it for any particular symptom, you can give me a brief on your symptom and then I would be in a position to guide you on the potency and the dose-set.

That's very helpful, thank you Rishimba.

Hi Rashimba,

Just a brief report to say that I took the remedy 12 days ago. As instructed, taken first thing in the morning.

As yet, I have not noticed a reduction in the warts but it has not yet been 2 weeks.

However, I am feeling more alert and good. I am feeling positive and motivated and feel that I have achieved more recently than previously. Perhaps these are positive affects of the constitutional treatment?

Anyway, I will continue to monitor the warts and report back in due course.

Best wishes.

Zoe

If you have felt good in general, this indicates the remedy has acted. Wait and watch for a month and then based on the condition of the warts, we can decide on the next remedy or dose.

Hi Rishimba,

An update on my condition. I have been feeling generally well and healthy over the past month. I have been more constructive with my time and feel more motivated, although I think this is quite usual for me with the arrival of Spring and warmer weather.

I have not noticed a visual change in the condition of my warts and verrucas. However I have a feeling that they are not as strong or virilant if that makes any sense, and I am not sure if this is because of my psychological improvement or if they are in fact very gradually reducing.

In a few days time it will be a month from my original dose of Calc Carb. What would advise I should with regards to repeating the dose?

Also as a separate query, my 6 year old son also suffers from warts. Would you be able to advise if I can give him a reduced dose of Calc Carb or look into a different remedy for him.

Kind regards

Zoe

You should repeat the dose of CALC CARB and keep repeating it once a month till your warts have not dried up fully. You may see a gradual reduction in the size of the warts but finally, they will dry up in any case if you continue this remedy.

For your son, you can start another thread and give his details. He may need some other remedy so its not correct to blindly give him calc carb.

Thank you Rishimba, I am very grateful for your advice. I will embark on the next dose for myself this week and start a new thread regarding my son.

Best wishes,

Zoe

Hi Rishimba,

Update: My warts and verrucas are still here. There is no reduction in size, although I have felt that they are possibly hardening and getting more dry in texture but it is difficult to be sure. The verrucas on my feet, although many, are flat and do not cause me any discomfort or pain and are relatively easy to hide in footwear. However, the warts on my fingers (around the nailbed and under the nail of my index fingers) are obvious and ugly and I find myself attempting to hide them.

I am preparing to take a further dose of calc carb as before. A month since the previous dose.

Please advise if I should continue to take doses a month apart. I know you said it was a deep and sow healing process.

Thanks in advance.

Stop CALC CARB.

Although calc carb is your constitutional remedy, it doesn't cover warts on fingers and toes. That's probably the reason these warts are not reducing.

Now, you will realize that calc carb and causticum people are both sensitive to surroundings and empathetic to people. Causticum has worked well on your son. I understand, you being his mother, are responsible in inculcating this mental make up in him. Hence, CAUSTICUM should work well on you as well.

Causticum is the only remedy that covers warts on fingers and toes near the nails. It works well if the patient is sensitive and empathetic. I guess, you too match the mentals of causticum.

Take CAUSTICUM 1M once every 15 days. Come back after 2 months.

Thank you for your reply Rishimba, as you suggest I am probably fairly similar to my son emotionally so I will try the causticum rememdy.

Unfortunately I have taken one more dose of calc carb (early this morning), which then provoked an unusually deep and refreshing sleep so I am hoping it was a positive reaction.

In light of this, do I now need to wait until I can take the causticum remedy or are they compatible in close succession?

Thank you in advance.

zoezest 9 years ago
I would suggest you wait for a couple of days before you take causticum.

You have responded well to calc carb, so get the full benefit out of it without disturbing its response with any other stimulus. As such they are not inimical but its better not to interfere any remedy's response with that of another one.

rishimba 9 years ago
Thank you Rishimba. That sounds sensible. I will wait a few days and then give the causticum a try.

I am so happy with the response my son has had to it. It has also been especially positive for my husband to see the power of homeopathy, having been sceptical before!

I will report back in due course.

Best wishes and thank you again for your time.

Hi Rishimba,

An update on my condition. On sunday morning I took a second dose of causticum, 15 days after the initial dose.

As yet I have not noticed any change in the warts in my fingers, other than that the skin seems a bit drier than before perhaps.

The verrucas on my feet appear slightly reduced in size but I am not entirely sure if I imagining/wishing this!

Please advise if I should continue to repeat with at dosage in a further 15 days.

Many thanks.

zoezest 9 years ago
Please continue taking CAUSTICUM 1M once every 15 days. I am pretty sure you will respond to this remedy after a few doses more. I don't see any other remedy that will act better than causticum in your case.

rishimba 9 years ago
Thank you Rishimba. I will happily continue with this remedy as instructed.

Best wishes.

zoezest 9 years ago
Hi Rishimba, just a quick query - must I stick to 15 day intervals with the causticum remedy or is it possible to taken sooner? Not a problem waiting, just feeling a little frustrated at the stubbornness of these warts that are not abating!
Many thanks.
