when a remedy does not follow well

Does anybody know what happens when the mm says a remedy does not follow well? For instance, LACH followed by SEPIA

It is impossible to say in detail what would happen in the instance you quote.

But the most probable is that some of the problems that caused the Lach to be given would return.
