The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Attn: Dr.Kulkarni..Barret's esophagus confirmed as Carci-noma later. Page 2 of 2

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I have already replied to your email.

I have come across these situations in my practice as well as with relatives. It's very testing time for family ad friends of patients. This being question of one's life, all related people of the patient will be in dilemma.
As far as allopath's, more especially, Oncologist's opinion is concerned his reaction is expected; it's very natural to him. But there is difference is a homeopath's opinion and an allopath's. Allopaths know nothing other than their own science while Homeopaths often know both though biased at times.

"he said it may be a false improvement"
I partly agree with him because I am bit doubtful about Bryonia';s competency in this case. However, next reports would be helpful on this.

I know many patients after chemo / radiation remain patients forever though they are granted some grace longevity. I also have seen patients 'cured' by homeopathy and enjoying life just as normal healthy people. Yes, there is some catch here - it is possible only when an accurate remedy could be found which is sure not everyone's cup of tea!

However, your decision is fair enough. Why not give the remedies their fair chance as long as they are working well?

Thanks dr.k. for your inputs.

We are not depending on bry alone. We will be alternating bry with condurango every five days.

As per Banerji protocol, they claim condurango is the first line medicine for easophageal can-cer.

Let us see how it unfolds. I will keep updating.

Regards

Ok. That's the better alternative in present condition.

Update after a week.

He had a severe coxo femoral pain, very debilitating. It got resolved with physiotherapy and homeopathy. We gave staphysagria 200c a few doses, mag.phos 6 x water dose and also colocynth 200c , followed by sulphur 30c a single dose.

He is free of that pain now. We stopped bry and condurango during that phase, which lasted three days.

We restarted bry LM 0/3. Plussed doses. Mixed 2 pills in about 30 ml. of water, and kept it as a stock solution. 2 drops of it in about 30 ml of water, and one teaspoon as a dose. We will continue for 3 days and then put him on condurango/punarnava again.

He is having frequent foamy saliva which has to be spit out. Lost about 2 Kgs. weight, since the pain episode. Other vitals are normal.

He is being given coconut water, threptin biscuits, water in which dried kharjura, kismiss, are soaked overnight, rice almost like a paste, boiled with grated leafy vegetables, little banana, sugarcane juice,

The quantities of solid food he can eat at a time are slightly more than last week, but too small portions even now.

Overall, his condition is stable. He burps a little bit once in a while and also have the saliva problem. I think his GERD symptoms are coming out, which were suppressed, while the can-cer was progressing.

I am not sure whether it is a right direction or not. I look forward to Dr.k's opinion.

********

These tally with his condition, before he went for homeopathic consultation. Obviously, it helped him, in making him to retain the food, though little. The waterbrash too is covered by Bry. That is the reason I am continuing with Bry.

As you feel, we may have to look for another remedy soon. I want to hold on to Bry for a little more time.

Please comment.

Coxo-femoral pain? why? Was this new symptom or he had it ever in the past?
It's good that he is relieved now but I feel there were a bit of too many remedies used which should better be avoided.
We will have to wait for next reports for any conclusions, I suppose.

DrKulkarni 7 years ago
Looks like a sprain in that area. In our anxiety for quick relief we did use two three medicines..not together..one after the other.

He never had it earlier. Since it responded to physio, we are assuming it is nothing more serious than a sprain.

I will report after a week. I too am keeping my fingers crossed.

Lot of things happened in the past week.

He got total relief from coxo femoral pain, but is becoming week day by day. He was unable to hold any food for a whole day. We have taken him to a nearby hospital for saline administration, and he recovered enough to be able to travel.

We again took him to dr.Chandrasekhara Rao, oncologist. He said chemo is the need of the hour and further postponement will result in very rapid deterioration. He told now a days, better medicines are available ,that minimise the after effects of chemo.

He said to continue homeopathy after chemo. We had to agree. Chemo was given for three days, and he was discharged on Monday. Luckily he didn't have any adverse reactions so far. No nausea, no vomiting. No other symptoms except fatigue.

We consulted one Dr.Mohanty, of Delhi, who is a family friend through Skype. He suggested Veratrum album. 10M. Since we had 200 on hand, we gave him three doses ..one dose every day. We ordered 1M and 10M.

Presently he is stable. On condurango and punarnava..daily doses.

The next chemo is planned after 3 weeks.

That was unfortunate development. Probably, treating his pain was a wrong step. However, now there is no point in analyzing those events.
If he is on chemo already there is no role of homeopathic remedies now for his main condition but for the symptomatic relief of the adverse effects, if any.
I hope he does well on chemo.

DrKulkarni 7 years ago
The progress is encouraging.

Chemo has very few side effects. Other than a few days of mild diarrhoea, he is fine.

For the fist time after the diagnosis he gained 2.5 Kgs. weight. From a low of 74kgs. to 76.5 Kgs.

Eating comfortably, though cautiously. A couple of Iidlies for breakfast and dinner, some rice with curries for lunch. Coconut water, fruit juices without sugar, green tea, one tea spoon of honey with turmeric/ ginger. Avoided sugar and milk completely. No coffee/ tea, except green tea.

He was given phosphorous 200, single dose two days before chemo. Veratrum album 200c..two doses on consecutive days after chemo. Veratrum album 1M, two doses with half an hour gap, a week back. We didn't repeat so far. No other homeo medicines.

I am quite happy with his progress. Obviously his tumour is receding. I know, it may not be permanent, but only hoping, that further chemo will help further.

He is very positive in his attitude, doesn't look like a terminal can-cer patient. I hope the combination of latest conventional treatment, proper non acidic diet, exercise and the positive attitude, along with Homeo will pull him through.

I feel the present generation of chemo drugs along with latest adjuvant medicines for reducing the effects of chemo are not suppressing the immune system as much as they used to be earlier.

You may read about pegex injection that was given 24 hours after chemo.

********

Pegex 6mg injection belongs to a class of medications called colony stimulating factors. It acts on hematopoietic cells (cells in the bone marrow that produce red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets) to increase production of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell) in the body.

******

I think it made a difference to reduce the fatigue/ prone to infections part of the after effects of chemotherapy.

Any way, I am hoping for the best. Next Chemo is scheduled for 23rd.

I forgot to add that the spitting of foamy saliva has reduced a lot, only a couple of times in the whole day, release of gas through burping too is reduced.

gavinimurthy 7 years ago
Overall, that's really pleasant to learn. It's good that he appears to tolerate chemo well. It might help remove entire lesion after which he will have at least 5 years of health and even more if he is lucky.
The regimen you are following also is fine.
I hope he would do well hereafter.
Keep updating periodically.

Update

We returned yesterday after the second chemo. Patient is absolutely fine. No diarrhoea which was present for a few days after the first chemo. He is in good spirits.

Food intake is improving day by day. No saliva, no burping. His blood picture and LFT done before the second chemo is normal.

Presently using Veratrum.Album 1M, one dose weekly. Gave phosphorous 200c, the day before chemo. Planning to resume Condurango 30c after a couple of days. 5 days a week.

Weight stabilised. There is a slight increase of about a Kg. No sugar products, no coffee, no tea, no milk. Only green tea. Coconut water, honey with turmeric/ginger/pepper. Idli and rice. Shifted to virgin olive oil.

The guiding principle is not to feed the can-cer cells, by avoiding sugar, milk, high glycemic foods, and to see that he gets the correct ratio of Omega 3/omega 6 fats.

Positive mind, proper food, and our treatment along with latest conventional treatment seems to be helping him.

Any way the litmus test will be the results of PET scan after the third chemo.

Hoping for the better.

Pleased to learn that he is going great!
I hope he continues to do well.

Third chemo was done during 13th to 15th January. There was a problem of vein damage. The site of IV administration turned black and the vien too got affected upto 12 inches from the sight of administration. There was burning pain and skin flaking.

Used secale 200 twice a day for a few days and aloevera/ coconut oil applied externally. There was considerable relief from pain and the blackness too reduced.

Food intake improved day by day, his energy levels are good and his outlook is positive. He performed his daughter's marriage on 1st Feb at Pathankot. Withstood the ordeals of travel well and enjoyed the occasion.

We decided to go for a PET scan which was done yesterday. The results are quite encouraging. His main tumour is reduced by half, the lymph nodes are almost normal. His appetite is good and eating well.

This is despite irregular intake of aurvedic and homeopathic medicines due to the marriage related works.

The oncologist is happy with the result. Decision is taken to continue 3 more cycles of chemo. The fourth is scheduled from 21st. The doctors are hopeful of further reduction in the tumor size.

In general he is advised to adhere to the following which he is willingly doing.

1) Have a positive frame of mind and have a belief that he will be cured.

2) Pranayama and meditation in the morning.

3)A spoonful of Honey with ginger/ turmeric on alternate days.

4) No coffee/ tea, no sweets, no sugar in any form. No milk.

5) Fresh coconut water twice a day.

6) no non veg.

7) Veratrum album 1M every Sunday.

8) Condurango 200c twice a day from Tuesday to Saturday.

9) Phosphorous 200c the night before the chemo.

10) Aurvedic medicine from Shimoga Karnataka daily.

11) Tibetan aurvedic medicine from Dharmasala daily.

12) symptomatic homeopathic medicines as and when required for intervening problems.

We are persuing all possible therapies with all the necessary precautions.

Results are encouraging and we hope he will continue to improve further.

I forgot to add that we are also using carica papaya mother tincture for a week after chemo to boost up his platelets.

Of course pegex injection too is capable of helping in keeping the platelets stable.

His blood test before every chemo is normal.
