worried 16 yr.old girl
My 16 year old daughter has had a few complaints lately. She has a lot of bruises, which I really think are a result of being active, and not unexplained. This month her period lasted 9 days, really heavy, lots of cramping. She is very energetic, and seems healthy. She has small lumps in breasts very noticeable right before her period. She just informed me of these recently. My side of the family has a history of fibrocistic breasts, I do not have this though. Because she is still young and not sexually active, she has not seen a gyno. She seems to worry alot that she will get cancer, and that is why she is bruising and having a heavy period. She has always been very dramatic and somewhat of a little hypochondriac (spelling?). I'm sure more personal information will be needed to diagnose. Please advise on info. needed. I really don't believe anything serious is wrong with her, but would like to put her mind to ease. The cancer idea came from 2 movies she watched about people who had a bruise that was really something more. She also has a few other fears. Thanks for any suggestions.tbarbie on 2006-06-27

9. List of your complain first 1.long and heavy periods with much cramping, before and during, backache and front pains as in ovaries, accompanied by headache, breast tenderness before period with some thickness and lumps 2.bruises easily. 3.-worries alot, mostly about health, fearing cancer
