Help for Young Woman Hair loss.

Hello,
I have been slowly losing my hair for 5 years.
It started back in 1999 when I was getting ready for my high school graduation. My mother was helping me wash my hair when we noticed a quarter size bald spot in the back of my head. We did not think much of it and my mom said it was due to stress. Soon I noticed the front of my head had started thinning. I went to a specialist who gave me cortisone injections and minoxidil to apply to my hair. The cortisone injections helped the one spot in the back of my head which has grown back completley. However I began loosing large amounts of hair. My hair was very thick and now has become very thin where you can see my scalp in some areas mostly in the front. This is very fustrating as I am only 22 years old and this has started when I was 17. Here is some information.
1. I have have thyroid test twice. All normal
2. I have been very healthy all my life.
3. I have had vitamen and hormone test done. all normal.
4. I was on no medication when the hair loss started.
5. I have been pregnant and had a child no effect on my hair loss. also prenatal vitamins did not help my hair regrow.
6. I have been on the birth control pill and have recenlty gone off it. I see slight increase in hair falling out.
7. Doctors say may be female pattern balding but not even my mother has such thin hair as I do.
8. I once Had very thick hair did not know what do do with it.
9. I see sometimes the falling gets worse and sometimes it is better but the empty spots have not filled in in 4 years.
10. I have recently tried applying black seed oil to my hair I have not seen any results as of yet.
11. I have tried many shampoos with no help.
12. My mom has also had a bald spot the size of a quarter when she was 40. Her spot has filled in also.

My question is could this be alopecia diffusa caused by the one incident of alopeica areata and what can I do. I am very fustrated and just want the hair I have lost. Will it ever come back and what should i do. I do not know of any Homeopathic doctors in my area.
I do tend to take on alot of stress mostly due to my hair. I also have always had hair on my body and legs which is very thick contrary to what is happening to my hair. Please help me!
Thanks
AH

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I am copying my post today to another case of Allopecia below:

Long term hair loss and acne, history of ME From Joe De Livera on 2004-09-08

The loss of hair, acne and sleep problem can be cured with Arnica 30c. Dose 2 balls taken thrice daily with the last dose increased to 4 to promote deep restful sleep.
You should notice a marked reduction in your hair loss in 2 weeks and new hair can be identified in about a month after starting on this remedy. Your Acne will disappear in a week and you will find that you will sleep deeply if you take the 4 balls last thing at night.
Arnica can be taken quite safely for extended periods as I have used it every night since 1996 and my BP is 120/80 pulse 65 at age 75.
Vit E 400 IU and any good Fish liver oil will also help with your Allopecia. Use Johnson's Baby Shampoo on your hair as it is very gentle. It also stops Under-arm BO if a few drops are massaged into the armpit to create a lather and washed off.
Stop coffee, cola drinks and food containing Saltpeter like bacon and sausages. Also stop all other medication unless absolutely essential

What are arnica "balls" I see the pills and the liquid form but not arnica balls. where can I get them. THanks for your adivce. Also if someone has tried this remedy and it works please post your positive experience.
Thanks

The balls that I referred to are small round pills 3mm ø. They are lactose pills which have been activated with the liquid remedy and are usually sold in the US in small plastic vials.

These pills should be put into a clean teaspoon and placed under the tongue when they will dissolve in a few minutes. The medicine will be absorbed into the body almost immediately when used in this manner.

Thank you Mr. Livera for taking time to answer. I will look for the Arnica.
Also, Can Mr. John Staton also reply.
I also have pin like markings on 1 of my nails. First it was on my index finger now on my pinky finger. I have diffuse hair loss but mostly in the front. My hair is also thinning from all around.
thanks

There is only a History of Heart Problems on my Fathers family side.
My sister got married and I was ready to graduate at the time I had a Quarter size empty spot on the back of my head. The hair loss did not worry me much because it was covered in the back and I still had a full head of hair. after about a month or so I did have my hair highlighted and after 1 month after that I noticed the front of my head was very empty. I went to a specialist who gave my cortisone injections in the front and back where the alopecia areata was. I started using Nizoral and shikaki shampoo. No difference. The front loss was just diffuse. I was very stressed at that time mostly due to my hair falling out. I became very depressed because when I ran my fingers through my hair alot of hair would fall out. we had recently moved to another state at this time also. I have never been sick before and I was just using Minoxidil at that time no other medications. I was eating alot of Grapefruits. I do tend to take alot of stress on many things however even when I am relaxed my hair seems to fall out. To began with I did have alot of hair so when it began coming out you could not see empty spots but my hair had become very thin compared to before. I got married and pregnant soon after. I did not notice anything different in my hair loss. After I had my baby still no difference. My hair does fall out alot especially when I have it cut. The Hair loss does slow down or become minimal but the hair never grows back especially in the front. Where the hair comes out from it does become itchy and sometimes I can feel where the hair is going to come out next by feeling tingling in the area. My Main problem is my hair falling out. I am always wondering if someone will see my empty spots. The hair loss is Diffuse.
one more thing I have noticed when some hair in the back does grow it comes back very very thin and when I tug on it slightly it falls out. I feel no pain it is as though there is nothing holding the hair in. I have started for the past 2 days arnica, Which Dr. livera has suggested. I am also taking Black seeds 1 pinch daily. I am just 22 and 17 when the hair loss started. I have never seen anything like this in a woman. I appreciate your response.

I forgot to mention the Hair in the back the quarter size which was alopecia areata did fill in within 1 month after the cortisone shot.
My mom had the same thing in the back of her head which went away with no shots. The first time she had this was in her 40's. My father has had a spot on his beard which has filled in.

I used Minoxidil on my hair for a Brief Period. Mostly in the front where my hair was thinning. I discontinued use within 2 months because of the Greasy buildup.I did not help much. I used it when I first went to see a dermatologist in 1999. After which I used it for a month again in the Beginning of this Year in 2004. Still no improvement and no help.

I was married in April of 2001. I met my husband in Sept of 2000.

My menses were regular before I got married and until after I had my baby which I went on the B.C. Pill.
That made my menses very slight and lasting a day or two only. Now since it has been one month since I have been off the pill. My menses have been heavier and last 4 days. No major pain during menstration just slight cramps the first day or two. My menses started the 7th of this month and should finish by Sunday. My cycle is pretty regular. I will get my period this around this time next month.
The thing that is strange to me is that the hair on my legs grows back very quickly after I shave. Also on my body and I have slight facial Hair also. How can i not have hair on my head?

when I pick my hair to see if it is coming out sometimes I see very small thin hairs that have grown come out very easily. The hair is growing in the back but is very weak. It seems like the "glue" that is supposed to hold it in is not there. What could this mean. Also I never see new hair growth in the front only in the back. What could this mean.

Hair roots require sebum oil (a skin oil-hormone produced naturally by our own skin glands) for appropriate lubrication and proteins to sustain growth at the root level. These can be easily malfunctioned by using chemicalised shampoos and soaps which have a gradual long-term corrosive effect on the skin cells (here read hair follicle-root) thereby by cleaning - neutralising - drying the skin sebum oil and corroding the built-up of root protein thereby causing the hair roots to simply shed off at the slightest provokation like slight pulling or rubbing with a bath towel. This is the EXTERNAL REASON.

The INTERNAL REASON is high acidic foods which are not assimilated / absorbed causing malfunctioning of the Liver and ultimately the Hormonal system (immune system). High anxiety, Stress, Blood pressure are also the prime reasons which also raises the adrenal levels causing external glands to dry up like the skin, nails, hair, lips and internal glands to produce lots of dry gas and colon malfunction.

A through constitutional (homoeopathic study) of your pathological and psychological history and a jugglery of appropriate homoeopathic medicines will help alongwith / though only if you rectify the above root reasons, otherwise usually it a waste of human years filled with frustrating anxiety.

Alongwith Homoeopathic medicines, the following will be helpful - though do not expect any results atleast for 8 weeks. This causes the hair roots to grow strong, sustain itself and ultimately to maintain thick hair.

Take 20 ml. of Arnica Mother Tinture and 80 Ml of Raw castrol oil (un-refined). Stir and mix till totally dissolved into one homogenous mix. Castrol oil is thick and purgative in nature, handling is stick n cumbersome, though is a good protien provider to the external skin Apply this every 3rd day well massaged into the scalp - no use oiling the hair. Try to do it before bed time and wash off the next morning with some mild shampoo while under running shower. Avoid letting the shampoo stay on the head while bathing.

Though this is not your constitutional remedy, tentatively you may take Acid Phos-200, liquid 2 drops on your clean scraped tongue, first thing every morning for about 30 doses/ days and stop. Results start showing after about 50 odd days from the first dose.

If you can suddenly get frighened enough, who knows, the hairs would stand out or pop out straight ... hee hee he ... just joking.

I clench my teeth alot. Doctors say I may grind my teeth at night also. I also clench my teeth because I am very cold and when in stress. Could this be related to my hair loss. The TMJ DOES NOT HURT AND DOES NOT BOTHER ME MUCH.
