i need help for my sister's thrush

Please could someone suggest a remedy for my sister, she gets thrush everytime she has her period and the doctor gives her canestan, she also suffers a lot with cystitis she started getting it when she had her children 7 sections she had and has always seemed to get this problem, she's dependant on codeine as well and was alcholic but has been dry about seven years, she never sleeps much and would be a nervous type of person and smokes heavy, thats all i can think of, any help would be appreciated.

i forgot to mention that she's raw and burning and said the canestan the doctor gave her does not work anymore, would she have become immune to it?
