Honestly....for a dogbite...you will have to take the allopathic shots.

For some relief....you can take Ledum 200C...three times a day internally and apply Calendula cream externally on the area of the bite.

Take the dogbite shots as early as possible.

Pankaj, which shots are you thinking about? Anything other than rabies?

Apart from Hypericum and Ledum, Belladonna and Lyssin must help in dog bite. Then why allopathic shot pankaj?

Let us not fool our selves....for dogbite ...there is no homeopathic med that will eliminate all possibilites...so better to go for the shots.....later follow it up with homeopathic medicine(s).

Yes...the possibility of rabies has to be ruled out with whatever possible means...even if it means taking allopathic treatment.

Let us not go over-board with homeopathy...better to know the limitations and guide accordingly.

If some one has more information then me ....welcome...I am ready to be educated on it.

i am in uk so rabies is unheard of. the medicine my doctor would advise is antibiotics so i would prefer to go down the natural route fkirst ad only resort to allotpathic as a last resort . i was taught that homeopathy can treat everything snake bites rat bites iwill try lyssen 1m and belladonna 30c and ledum 30c if these fail i may go down allopathic road

From your post its not clear, if you had tetanus prior to dogbite incident or it happened as a consequence to dogbite. Anyway you could ve taken Ledum and Hyper immediately after the bite to prevent tetanus.

Without knowing the nature of bite, that too when infection is involved, its difficult to suggest sureshot remedy.

But here are some ideas:

* Belladonna should've been started before infection.

* THe first link provided by Daisy43 will be more useful for you.

* Lyssin';ll take out the negative effects of dog bite even if the dog's not rabies affected.

* Infection may warrant use of arnica or Hepar sulph(if there's abscess or boil). For more information read the link given by daisy43 because it has more remedies to appropriate symptoms.

* If animal substance remained in the bite place you're going to need a way to drain it out.

* If possible contact nearest competent homeopath to examine the nature of the wound.

* Applying Calendula on bite is good as Pankaj suggested.

* As you are going to see your Dr,it is good even if you are symptoms free after homeopathic treatment to rule out any long term hidden problems.
