Dear Friends,
I am glad to see that people are in a real Deepawali mood and firecrackers are going all over the forum.I missed the action for a day and am happy to just post a few comments from a cybercafe at my home town.
I would like to post my thoughts regarding people drinking bottlefuls of homeopathic 1M solution and nothing happeneing to them.The wonder shown refelects the ignorance of the fundamentals of homeopathy which would be clarified by reading some good books on homeopathic philosophy including the Organon.
Thge sheer quantity of the alcohol that people consumed in those cases would produce a powerful 'narcotic' or 'tipsy' effect.Hence it is only natural that the vital force would respond to the stimulus of the alcohol and not of the remedy vibration.This happens because the vital force always responds to the stronger stimulus which in this case is the alcohol.
To assume that by drinking a gallon of 1M potency in alcohol you are consuming a much more powerful drop of the remedy than when consuming a drop displays the belief that increase in quantity of the alcohol is increasing the 'quantity' and hence the 'power' of the remedy.This is ridculous given the amount of dilution that takes palce while creating a high potency remedy.At the level of 30C, the dilution is of the order of the entire water on this planet and 1 drop of the remedy in that kind of water.
So, taking a gallon or a ton or more of alcohol based remedy is only going to increase the narcotic effect of the alcohol and hence ensuring that the remedy never gets a chance to do anything in the body.This is a very simple explanation for what happened in those states.

It has reached a point where We need to forget this 'empty' debate which focusses more on people and less on real homeopathic points.
Pankaj has for long been saying he will present his 'scientific thoughts'.But till date i am yet to see a single 'scientific thought' from him.Kuldeep is at least giving examples which can be further discussed.I request Pankaj to either come up with those 'scientific thoughts' or go back to prescribing which he is quite good at.

This is for people who are not so much knowledgeable about homeopathy and hence get swayed by such examples to utterly disregard the power of these homeopathic remedies.Their typical thought would be like this:
'When people consuming bottlefuls of high potency homeopathic remedies did not get any side effects or 'proving' symptoms, what harm could ever happen by taking a drop or a globule of such 'impotent' and 'silly' things.Then they may try on a random basis any remedy without any fear.'
If i were not worried about this dangerous thing, i would never have taken so much time to post this when i have come to my family to celebrate the 'festival of lights'.
Friends, if you think like this please stop and ponder about what i am writing.Homeopathic remedies are unimaginably diluted quantum, non material, yet to be properly understood forces which are very subtle in nature.They produce an effect upon the body by touching it at a very deep and unimaginably subtle level which most homeopaths call the 'vital force'.If you think a little bit you will realise that it is correct; otherwise how can 1 drop of a substance dissolved in 10 raised to the power 1000 or 10,000 or 50,000 drops of alcohol have any effect at all.
When you consume a bottleful of alcohol (which is a powerful 'narcotic'), the effect of alcohol itself is much more powerful than the effect of the remedy itself and hence the remdy is not able to produce any effect.I know this because i have consumed myself bottlefuls when i and my friends could not find the real thing due to some reason.
I am a much more colourful person than many of you would imagine.

Similum-minimum was not used to counter a polite person like deoshlok.
If theroy of similum-minimum works at all, it should be implemented in all approaches of life.

Dear Rajiv,
I am already making my homeopathic suggestions to people. I don't call it prescribing...becoz...with the limitations of the internet...it can never be called prescribing (thru Forum).
Reg. Scientific and logical information....I will make it in due course ...after Diwali...but in a way that would be sharing of knowledge.
Presently, Diwali and other pressing engagements are keeping me busy.
Wishing you and your family a very happy Diwali.
(May you get the 'original stuff' to celebrate Diwali !!).

I wish a vey happy Deepawali to you too.I look forward to reading what you would share.I do not have any preconceived notions and hence am always willing to learn.But if i raise some argument, it is always based on the content and never because of a personal like or dislike.I believe that having this kind of attitude in life enables one to learn best and also be free from any dogmas.For me, everythibg that Hhnemann said is not right.But to be fair to the man, he was a pioneer and hence only showing thw way.It was for the people who came later to further his work.But i also believe that to further any work one has to first be aware of what level the subject has reached as of now.Only then can the further developments be made.And to become aware of all the nuances of a given subject as it exists now, one needs to study hard.To further the existing knowledge, one needs to experiment,carefully observe, understand and record the results of such experiments.
