Perineum after giving birth

I gave birth nearly 5mths ago and still am in recovery.
Labour was for 10hrs including 2 and 1/2 hrs pushing - which resulted in perineum muscles totally overworked. Am now in perineum re-education twice per week, but its slow progress which leave me with feelings of impatience, depressed, and its hard to keep on struggling. No incontinence at all...just bearing down in pelvis area when standing/walking, and sometimes 'pushing out the vagina' feeling. Lack of power in ALL muscles from being inactive for so long. Scar is from just inside the vaginal entrance to the anus. Suture took over 4mths to absorb and heal and finally disappeared. Skin tissue slow to heal[extreme causasian:(]. For example, breastfeeding was sore for the 1st 4months -on homeopathy to aid toughen-up skin for that (silicea, Agaricus, photolaca, staphy). Is there more homeopathy to help perineum or would it be too much to take more?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hello

Didn't you take arnica after delivery?

If you didn't then, take arnica 30c in wetdose thrice daily for 2 days and stop.

Should you do it please post back the progress.

BTW intake of silicea, agari, phyto, staphy for after-labour troubles self-prescribed or suggested?

maheeru last decade
I took arnica 30c after delivery which greatly helped. The silicea, agari, phyto and staphy is for breastfeeding, prescribed by a homeopath. I suffered from cracked nipples and then my nipples never healed, and breastfeeding continued to be excrutiating. Homeopathy has greatly helped (it took 4mths!) to toughen up the skin in this area.

I note that Arnica 30c helped you after delivery and the reason why you are suffering today is because you stopped it too early.

You are advised to take a teaspoonful twice daily after shaking the bottle and the cracked skin on your nipples should heal in a few days.

You will observe that it will also help with your problem with your muscles in the perineum.

My goodness.!!

Arnica should never be applied directly on cracked skin;forget about applying it on nipples.

It is very likely to produce irritation and blisters.

gavinimurthy last decade
though the suggestion of arnica implies to take it orally, I am giving this caution, to forewarn about any suggestions like this.

Dear Murthy,

I have just replied you on the Hair Loss thread posted by the 21 year old and your posts on this thread too are questionable.

You stated:
'My goodness.!!

Arnica should never be applied directly on cracked skin;forget about applying it on nipples.

It is very likely to produce irritation and blisters.'

I am in complete agreement with you about never using Arnica Q on the skin. How did you conclude that I had advised the patient to do so on this thread as there is absolutely no evidence that I have advised so. I see that in your second post you have realized that you jumped the gun on your first and tried to make amends.

Please read my post addressed to you which I shall copy below:

Dear Murthy,

I can see that you just cannot resist maintaining your standard abrasive attitude towards homeopathy where you insist that everyone else is wrong and only you are right. Poking your nose into every post that I and others make is just bad for your health and my advice to you is to take it easy and not start another state of war on the ABC again.

You have only to type Hair Loss into the Search Forums cage on the left to read the many hundreds of cases I have helped with Arnica in the past the majority of which have responded.

I cannot understand the reason why you always wish to display your superior theoretical knowledge on homeopathy in your statements without taking into account the fact that the patient may not fall under the various categories that you have put him/her under.

You have advised a 21 year old boy or girl that:

'lycopodium can reduce hair loss after pregnancy.'
How can you presume that a 21 year old has had a baby ? What if the patient is a male ?

'Sepia can be used for hair loss associated with hot flushes and night sweats'
How can you presume that the patient falls under these categories ?

'Phosphoric acid may help if grief, stress and emotion are the main triggers.'
How do you presume that the patient falls under these rubrics ?

I believe that you are suffering from some severe stress that impels you to barge into the posts that the resident prescribers give on the ABC and I hope that you will take my advice and take it easy and not recommence your tirade of abuse and hatred which you displayed only a couple of days ago which you compelled you to change your ID.

Physician heal thyself.

Dear Joe

I ansered you in the other post.

um...dare I post a reply to this?!?! I understood from Joe De Livera's reply to me that arnica should be taken internally, not put on the skin. Thank you for your reply btw.
However my original query was for the perineum and not the nipples! (I am currently on treatment for my nipples, as I referred to in my original post.) And I had taken arnica 30c for a week after delivery. I've heard its not good to take arnica over a long period of time. True or false?
Is there any specific homeopathic remedy to help improve muscle poweror boost healing in that area of the body?

newmommy last decade
You already took 4 medicines, infact 5, if you count arnica too.

I don't think the medicines given to you are for breast feeding alone. Any homeopath will look at all symptoms, and prescribes.

in homeopathy, one medicine covers all your problems. There won't be one medicine each, for each part of the body.

You said your homeopath helped a lot.Continue to take his advice.

gavinimurthy last decade
I realize that there won't be one homeopathy medicine for each part of the body, but I was hoping that perhaps there is a specific remedy which deals with muscle power regeneration type of thing, particularly for the pelvic/perineum area of the body.

Read this.

Kegel exercises will help you. They are very simple to do.

Medicine alone maynot help all the time.

Thank you but I've been doing Kegel exercises for approx. 2months now. That is why I am looking for that extra boost (if it exists) in homeopathy.

o.k.Let us se if somebody can help. But, take any advice with a pinch of salt, and get it counter checked.

All sorts of funny prescriptions are being dished out here.

gavinimurthy last decade
On the link Murthy gave, I read that Sepia 200 can be taken for the pelvic area after childbirth - that it helps the bearing down feeling. Can anyone confirm this for me please??????

newmommy last decade
Yes. Sepia has that particular condition. But, your other symptoms should match for Sepia to help you.

Read about it, and see if it fits.

gavinimurthy last decade
Dear newmommy

Consider taking arnica or Bellis in 200 potency(wet dose)as these can strengthen perineum than going for a constitution breaker sepia.

maheeru last decade
constitution breaker??????

newmommy last decade
Hello newmommy

what I meant was the specified remedy above is a suitable medicine for a particular constitution and works deeply in both planes(mental and physical) if its administered when indicated.

maheeru last decade
does that mean that some homeopathic remedies can be constitution breakers while others aren't?????
