4 months old baby with a sty

My almost 4 months ld baby boy has already pretty big sty on his upper eye lid. I took him to an eye doctor and she told me to do warm compressed 3 times a day for 20 minutes. He will NOt let me do that to him that long, I can manage few minutes here and there but there is no way I can do it for 20 minutes at a time.
He's had it for at least 4 weeks now, I think even longer then that. When he wakes up in the morning within about 30 munites his eye gets all mucusy (green discharge) and then the eye lid turnes red and swollen a little. I am putting breastmilk in his eye, but it does not seem to make much difference.
When I life his eyelid it's pretty big (looks like a cauliflower) and goes quite far back under the lid.
I am starting to worry a little, I would not want him to have it cut if it gets bigger. :o(
Any suggestions?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Pulsatilla 30 thrice a day for a week and lowest available potency Silica (say 3x or 5x) thrice a day for two weeks (to ripen the sty and extradite all foreign matter from hair follicles)

Some people here are enforcing their un-medical beliefs here, they may interfere in all prescription.

However:
I recommed you to follow any one advice completely, ask them to give you an alternate advise or scram.

Styes,upper lid: alum(1),am-c(1),bell(1),ferr(1),merc(1),ph-ac(2),PULS(3),staph(1),Sulph(1),Thuj(1),Tub(1)

Out of the above those medicines which have mucus are..

alum(1),am-c(1),ferr(2),merc(3),ph-ac(1),Puls(3),staph(1),sulph(1),thuj(2)

now, let us see what is peculiar, in your son.

Green mucus : Kali-bi(1), Merc(1). only two medicines.

Merc.sol is the medicine for your child.it covers all the acute symptoms, the totality,as we call it.

Give him three doses of merc.sol 200, 2 pellets dissolved in a tablespoonful of water, twice a day, for three days, and post response.

Similar remedy

Single remedy

minimum dose is homeopathy.

Murthy

P.S. The repertory used is Murphy.

pavlina,

its not homeopathy but it works, pity i cant get my hands on the picture of my little boy around that age with his stye and what our mothers here in ireland have used for years really works, its a cold used tea bag, i dont know where you live but here we use nambarrie or punjana tea, but if ya have one handy it really will take it away, we all use them.

sorry pavlina,
if you do have a tea bag after its been brewed put it in the fridge for a bit then squeeze any liquid out and hold it on your baby's eye for as long as possible, preferably when he's asleep it should go away within a day or two, you'll noticed a discharge and redness going down after the first tea bag has been put on, i would keep doing it and make sure to change the bag after every use, until its better.

elaine - thank you for your tip. i wonder why they say do warm compreses if cold works on it too? he has a nasty cold right now as well, so i am not sure about cold teabag on his eye right now. would not want him to get sinus.
when he gets better i will try that. thanks.

hi pavlina,
the teabag takes the swelling down and the pain starts easing straight away, i had a stye and conjunctivitis so bad the hospital doctor said he never seen one as bad and the ointment he gave me was stinging me so my mum put the tea bags on and it cleared in a few days but i got ease straight away and the ooze came out within hours, i dont know what it is that makes it work but we all use it here regardless to what other symptoms we have, but anyway just thought i'd pass on an old remedy

oh and before i forget all the mothers used a wee bit of butter rubbed into the nose between the eyes as babies having snuffles and cant breathe, they pass on what they used for generations.

Mercurius is the most suitable remedy provided the symptoms given by the patient are correct.

Thank you everyone, I started him on Merc. yesterday. I olny have 30C though.
I have started him on Mercurius sol. for one more reason as well. I just had my amalgam filling removed on Monday (by a mercury-free doctor) and because I am breastfeeding I know he will get some mercury via milk :o( I already had one amalgam filling removed when he was 3 weeks old (I had an acute pain) and 2 days after that he got really back cold that lasted about 3 weeksa nd after that the sty on his eye lid started. And the very same thing happened after this Monday - within 1 day he got really bad cold, so I figured it IS the mercury from the filling that got into my milk.
SO I am hoping to help with the Merc. a little bit.
