Dear Molly,

Is your mother a chilly or a hot person?Which weather makes her uncomfortable and which weather makes her uncomfortable? This stomach pain and rumbling in the stomach starts immediately after eating or after some time. After how much time? How is her thirst?Very thirsty, average or less thirsty than average.Does she throw up food items with the burps?Does she throw something liquid with the burps? How big is the lump on the neck? When was it first noticed?

Can you think of some specific incident that happened just a short while before this cancer was diagnosed?Does your mother sleep easily or has difficulty falling asleep? Can you ask her about her dreams? What kind of dreams has she been seeing of late? What rae the three or four biggest shocks of her life? Can you describe them in great detail?

When your mother gets upset, what is her typical response?Does she cry, scream, show anger in other ways?Does she retire to her room, disliking any one approaching her or consoling her or does she love consolation? How affectionate was she when you were a child?Did she like to express her love physically by kissing, caressing etc. or was she an aloof and strict kind of mother? Can you cite some remarkable events involving your mother from your own memory. Those events may or may not involve you.

I will ask more questions based on your answers.

Rajiv

i will answer as much as i can now before i talk to her tomorrow.
she is chilly and hates thunderstorms.thirst -less to average.
the pains and rumbling start from 10 to 20 minutes after eating and she feels burning as if her digestive system id fighting the food.she only vomits if the food was rich,it is mostly expelled below.
she told me about the lump on her neck when i was there in nov,its not very big because i couldn`t feel it.
a year before her symptoms her dear sister died of cancer, she took it very bad.
she has a few drinks to sleep but wkes afew times in the night.the biggest shocks have been her son`s misfortunes.
when she`s upset she smokes, cries, would like consolation from us,gets nervous, never shouts but can be hurtful.
i was the last child,i don`t especially remember lots of affection but nothing bad,she likes ahug but ,very good with babies and her grand children.no she wasn`t strict, very easy going.she seemed to be lonely when i was growing up.i remeber typical teenage fights we had and i remeber the shock she got when she foung out my brother was going to be a father at 20,she stayed in a neighbours for 2 days.
have to go ,woody is pulling the compu ter !
