Severe Extrinsic Allergic Asthma:Methotrexate proposed as next stage of treatment ;anyone familiar with this drug and its side effects?
I am new to this forum:it is the second time I am writing to you,hoping to gain a second opinion on my health.I am 46 years old,married with 3 children.I have suffered with asthma since aged 10.Over the last 7-9 years it has progressively gotton worse.I Take steriods regularly;maintenace dose of 5mg per day and 30 mg during an acute episode which is like every 2-4 weeks at present.I have noticed increasing thinning of my hair,sexual desire has completely ceased and my periods are diminished.I am very sensitive to the steriods psychologically.My consultant has discussed putting me on Methotrexate a steriod sparing drug:does anyone know of this drug.I fear my health is steadily getting worse and death is forever on my mind.Please can anyone helpWin
