Blepharitis and sties

Hi,
I have been getting sties for years, but more recently they've increased so I am getting them a couple of times per month. I wash my lids with baby shampoo 2x/day. My ophthalmologist put me on antibiotics with a topical steroid. This helped, but now that I am tapering off, the sties are back. I really do not want to do antibiotics long term. Can you recommend a homeopathic course of remedy? I saw a homeopath years ago and was constitutionally lachesis, though I think that's changed. Here's a bit about me that might help dx: I tend to be hot, get sores on my scalp, pale bluish skin, tidy and tight with money, rarely thirsty, often hungry, tired in the afternoon, creative in the morning, slow metabolism, prefer loose clothing...maybe that will give you a helpful snapshot?
Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dear Ukelelejack:
The treatment for the sties have several remedies. Perhaps LACHESIS fits as your constitutional remedy but, as your symptoms indicate, i don't think this remedy matches with your present situation.
I advise to use:
TUCERCULINUM 15 CH, three pellets, once a 15 days.
STAPHYSAGRIA 6 CH, Three pellets, twice a day.

The fist remedy acts on your miasmatic predisposition, as repetition of sties indicates; and the second remedy will provocate an amelioration in your sties and in the sores in your scalp.

If you like, you can report when 15 days are passed from the first intake.
Best wishes

thank you andres and dr. mahfooz. to clarify the duration of your rx, is it:

tuberculinum 15 ch, three pellets, once a day for 15 days or just once for 15 days?

staphysagria 6 ch, three pellets, twice a day for 15 days?

thanks again and i will check in in 15 days after i begin.

Dear Ukelelejack:
TUBERCULINUM 15CH, three pellets, only one dosis and then wait 15 days to the second dosis.
STAPHYSAGRIA 6CH, twice a day for 15 days.
After 15 days (you'll have taken two dosis of Tuberculinum and 30 dosis of staphisagria) report to us.
Best wishes
Andrés

P.D. Thanks a lot for your support, Dr. Mahfooz ;)

Thank you for the clarification. I will try it. One more quick question, should I stop taking the antibiotics my doctor prescribed?

Dear ukulelejack:
I've read you are usin antibiotics and topical steroids.
If there is no infection, it's better don't take antibiotics. but the most important it's no use topical steroids, because can change the symptoms and many times provocate the sties come back strongerly.

Hello,

It has been 15 days and I followed your instructions. Last week, I got one stye, which is typical. What was not typical is that the stye never got very swollen and cleared up quickly. Also, my eyelids have been crusty some mornings, and this is also new. I also think that the insides of my lower lids look less red than before. So I think progress is being made.

What should I do next?

Also, I have not had any coffee since I began this treatment. I would very much like to go back to drinking coffee--I usually have a cup of caf and a cup of decaf every morning. Is this possible to continue drinking coffee?

Thank you again for your help!

Dear Ukulelejack:
I'm glad for your health improving.
Please, take another dosis of TUBERCULINUM, and then, reduce STAPHYSAGRIA to one dosis.
Then one dosis of tuberculinum (three pellets under your tongue) and the next day only one dosis each day of STAPHYSAGRIA (better when you go to bed).
If you like to drink a coffee, please, do it, but only in the breakfast, because you can antidote the homeopathic remedies.
Use for two weeks more and report. If you see your improving is complete, stop with the medication and report.
Best wishes

Thank you. Just so I understand fully:

Day 1 (today or tomorrow): I will take 1 dose of Tuberculinum 15C and 1 dose of Staph 6C.

Day 2: 1 dose of Tuberc, and 1 dose of Staph at bedtime

Day 3 and for two weeks: continue to take 1 dose of Staph at bedtime for the next 2 weeks

Please let me know if this is correct. And I will only drink coffee in the morning. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Dear Ukelelejack:
Sorry, but the treatment is this one:
1st day: one dosis of tuberculinum 15ch. (no more dosis, no more days)
2nd day and next days till two weeks: one dosis of Staphysagria at bedtime.
If you improve at all, please, stop the intakes.
You can drink coffee but only in the breakfast and not too much (one cup is a reasonable quantity).
Best wishes
Andrés

Thanks so much for your speedy and detailed response. I will follow your instructions and report back.

I will probably avoid coffee for the next 2 weeks and then go back to drinking at breakfast, just to be safe.

It is difficult to know what improvement is--in the past, my eyelids seemed improved and then I got another stye. So the absence of sties is not always a reliable indicator of improvement. Hard to tell.

Dear Ukelelejack:
If you have had another stie, that means you have apredisposition. This predisposition we are treting with tuberculinum. If it's necessary, in the future, we'll have to use tuberculinum again.
Your amelioration in your eyelid is a very best symptom, because it's indicating that Staphysagria acts very well.
Please, don't worry. You are in the right way. Be patient and see.
Best wishes

Hello,

I followed the instructions you have given and my sties have improved. I still get them regularly, two or three per month, but they are less severe and usually clear up quickly after application of hot compress (usually in day, instead of over 3-4 days before).

I take the staphysagria now when I get a sty. However, this may not be the best way to go about it.

Can you recommend an ongoing dosage--this sty problem may not go away, but I hope I can better manage it and decrease their frequency further.

Thank you again.

...

when there is recurrence even after the staphisgeria, please take hepar sulph - 30c ( 4 pills three times a day for three days.). it will take care of the residual effect.

thank you for the reply. to be clear, i should:

-take the staph (1/x day for duration of sty?) when i get a sty
-then take hepar sulph 30c 3x/day for 3 days

please tell me if this is correct. thanks again.

No. If staphisgeria works then follow the treatment as advisd by the presdcriber.

I suggested that in case it does not work then Heper Sulph. It is to be taken in 30C potency (4 pills three times a day.)

I have many questions that I need answered. About 3 months ago I developed what I thought was a stye. I found the irritated lash and plucked it and left it alone. The next day I had a tiny white pus pocket on the edge of my upper right lid below the lashes. I normally use a strong salt rinse when I have issues with my eyes, so I proceeded to use the rinse. The following day I had more of the pus pockets on the right eye and one on the left. I flushed dramatically that day in a panic and the one on the left went away. The right eye, however, continued to get worse. It seemed as if there were about five of these pockets almost perfectly spaced along the lash line in the right eye. By Friday, my lid was extremely sore, swollen, and very red. The brow was raised in a surprised expression and there was so much swelling my eye was shut. I went to the doctor and she prescribed some amoxicillin for second degree cellulitis. She also prescribed a topical ointment of Neomycin for the eye. Within a couple of days, the swelling had gone down, but not completely. She also recommended that I use hot compresses as many times a day as possible. I continued the antibiotics for the 10 days prescribed. I continued the topical ointment for 4 more days because of the lump that was left behind. I visited an opthalmologist for my routine eye appointment for my vision and had him look at the eye lid. He said continue the compresses and come back if it worsens. Possible surgery if it doesn't improve. I went back about two weeks ago because my eyelid was swelling again. He prescribed a topical ointment with a steroid. I used this for two days and the eyelid became more swollen each day. I went back to the doctor two days after the initial visit and he prescribed doxycycline, and scheduled a surgery. I haven't yet had the surgery and I don't want to. I have found this forum, so I started taking the silicerea, but it is a 6c and they are ordering the 30c. The doctor diagnosed me with blepharitis. I have never had any problems with crusty eyes, styes, or chalazions before. Now I have two pea sized chalazions in my right eyelid. I thought I must have contacted some sort of bacteria and itched my eye to expose it to the bacteria. I am desperate for some answers. There is much confusion on what to take. I know that mint can counter act the effects of homeopathic remedies. Are there any other contraindications while using homeopathic remedies? I noticed coffee was listed. Is it the caffeine or the coffee itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated
