skin eruptions: rash?
I have a situation that has been going on for approx. 2 months and has grown increasingly worse. It started with a itchy bump on my upper stomach and wrist. I now have a series of red bumps and scabs from itching. Heavy patches on my back and back of bicep. Some have no color, but then become red after itching. I had a biopsy on these, and it came back as no known origin. Dermatologist has prescribed a cream; I have yet to pick up. I am not sure if the biopsy came back as no known origin, does that mean it is being created internally? Like some other disease? It definitely itches more at night. Sensitive to hot water and all become very red from the water. With the exception of thyroid medicine changing recently to a generic, nothing else I can pin point. Have been dealing with a sinus type infection in the area behind my one ear for many months. But can't find any association with this.

Dear Dougt:
If the number of bumps are growing, i think it may be because of the medication you are taking. This cream of the dermatologist -i suppose- can contain cortisona, and it can enmascarated the symptoms.
Please, what's the name of the medication (all medication) you are taking?
Regards
Andrés

Desoximetasone. It appears to be slowly clearing up the existing bumps, but I am continuing to still get more; yet not as many.
I have also noticed that the bumps don't seem to appear till after I begin scratching. Once the area has been scratched one or two then appear.

Prescription medicine I take is thyroid medicine and also Niaspan. Now I mentioned that I have changed to a generic of the Synthoid or Levoxyl I have taken previously. The generic is Levothyroxine.
One of the side effects of Niaspan are skin rashes, but I have been on the drug for nearly 1 1/2 years. I have not found any info relating to developing symptons that far removed from when the drug was started nor any info in regards to possibly over dosing on the medicine.
I was also on Levaquin and in between to bouts of the drug ( one for 10 days ; the next for 14) is when I first developed the first series of bumps. I have been off the drug for nearly a month now, so I can't see how that would have any effect.

I too, have been having similar symptoms. Starts with itchy bumps around belly-button area on inner wrists and between knuckles and around groin area. If area is scratched a clear liquid is squeezed out (very small and only noticed on wrist area) and area is increasingly irritated. Itches more at night and sensitive to hot water. My brother and I both started symptoms around Sept. 2006 and have continued having. His doctor said it was allergies, mine gave the presciption cream of triamcinolone acetonide which stops the itching bumps from returning, but only for a few weeks. I am 30 and my brother is 29, no medications taken, abstinent and healthy. Roomates and share same shower. Have swapped out all soaps, detergents, anything that may cause allergens? Psoriasis? Scabies? Tea tree oil has had no effect.

Dear Dougt,
Dear Alaway:
If both of you have similar symptoms and you take the same allopathic medicine, I think you have to go to your medical doctor and talk to him about this rash.
Until you are taking this medicine, homeopathy can't do nothing at all.
Please, consult to your doctors.
Best wishes
Andrés

Mine do not seem to be the same. I am lacking any type of discharged fluid. I don't have any on my gential area (front and behind) nor any in between my fingers. Nor any on my face.

Dear Dougt:
I've been seeing the information about the medication you are taking. Synthroid has as side effects alergic reactions (hives...); Levaquin has the same side effects as Synthroid.
Niaspan has as side effect: exantems, pruritus, rash...
Yes, I know you haven't any fluids discharge, but -in my opinion- all of your symptoms can be generated by your medication.
Sorry, but I'm not a pharmacist and I can valorate how this drugs can interact.
Best wishes

Skin eruption/rash is common disease now-a-days. Its treatment is alway done on patient to patient basis keeping in view his totality of symptoms. The way of treatment of Allopathy and homoeopathy are very different to each other. If you are keen to become healty then you have to adopt one way.
Dr.Andress has sincere advise to you I also agree with him and suggest the same.

Dera alavay:
Sorry, but I was in a hurry and i didn't read with detail your post.
Eccemas and eruptions are usual in allergic cases. May be suppuration or not, but usually there is itching.
If your brother and you both have the same symptoms, may be some miasmatic presisposition, and treatint it is the best way to cure, because if we only treat the acute symptoms, we shall have a recidive again and later.
To use topic remedies, cortisone cream or another creams only can enmascarate the true symptoms. Please, if you need more help, fill the questionaire and we try to help you.
Best wishes

I am not sure which posts you were answering to, but if the one from Dr. Mahfooz, then my reaction would be such:
1) Levaquin: I have been off this antibiotic for at least 5 weeks.
2) I have been on thyroid medicine for nearly 6 years, with no side effects. I began with Synthroid, then Levoxyl and then the generic I listed in a previous post. Now, I did start having my first eruption probably 4 weeks or so from the time I changed to the generic
3) Niaspan: I have been on this as noted for probably almost 2 years. Besides the occassional flushing at night, I have no other reactions.
I have stopped taking the Niaspan as of a few days ago to see what happens. The eruptions on my chest, arms, wrist and back seem to be diminishing/clearing up. Itching in these areas is very minor if at all.
But, in the evenings the itching now seems to be more centralized on my legs. I have a few eruptions on my thighs and calfs, but no where near what I had on the other parts previously. Keep in mind, I have been applying the prescription oinment since 2/15 , twice a day.
I did off the cuff as a pharmacist about reactions to Niaspan and thyroid medicine, and he did not give me any indication that he thought it could be that. Of course, stopping it is the only way to tell. I can't stop the thyroid, but I guess I could try switching back to the brand version.
But is that common or possible for someone to develop reactions to drugs they have been taking for some time? I know I used to be allergic to lobster and shrimp as a kid, but have no issues with it now. So, I guess the reverse could be possible???
thx

Dear Dougt:
Sorry if I seemed unattented, but you have find the solution to your allergy: if you stopt to take this medicine, then your allergic response diminishes. I don't know if your medicine before was right and the generic wrong, but probably it contains some product that provocates reaction in your organism.
If you stop to take your medicine -Niaspan- is very probable the effects on your organism mantain durin a time, and if you feel itching in your lims, it is because the sustances by the gravitation force used to go to limbs, despite of blood circulation.
Homeopathy can help you: NUX VOMICA is used to desintoxicate the organism and to throw away the toxins (medicines, alimentaires, poisonous...). But if you take NUX VOM and then you return to takeNIASPAN, then you are driving to the same ploblematic place.
Best regards
Andrés
