18 month old not sleeping after tummy bug

Hi forum members,

I've been a longtime lurker here and find the responses to be inspired and they have taught me a lot and now I seek some help.

My 18 month old daughter was born with severe birth trauma after a rushed c-section. She suffered from reflux as well as shoulder trauma. She was on gaviscon, losec and zantac but weaned off the medicine at 12 months (after 11 months of being medicated) with the help of osteopathy.

She is a strong-willed Leo and is very hard to persuade. At the hight of her illness (hospitalized twice and 1 explorative surgery), she could go 4 entire days without sleep.

We have worked on this since she weaned off the medicine and at 15 months got her to drink a bottle to sleep and this is how we would put her back to sleep.

Recently she had a tummy bug for 3 days of vomitting and had horrible constipation afterwards. Since then she will not take a bottle and will not sleep at all.

She prefers to lie on our shoulders, completely held tight (which reminds us of reflux symptoms) and will not lie flat at all. She refuses to sleep and will pound her forehead with her fist in anger. She screams for hours on end and this is throwing us back to the fear that she will never sleep again.

A homeopath prescribed her Belladonna for any throat inflammation and a Nux Vomica, Passionflower and Valerian homeopathic combo.

To say the least nothing is getting better, she is becoming more forthright with her anger (lashing out and hitting or slapping us) and she is very overtired and not doing well.

We will see an osteopath on Tuesday for an adjustment but it is not our regular osteo.

Thank you so much.

Dear Jen

To me it seems, your kid is suffering from after-effects of rushed C-Section. In this situation my suggestion will be to try Opium remedy in 30 potency not exceeding 6 doses distributed over 3 days. Ofcourse stop if any appreciable aggravation/amelioration ensues.

try CHAMOMILLA 30C every 6 hours for some 2 days and note the changes. stop the remedy once the symptoms become better.

to close out, give her a dose of CHAMOMILLA 200C after a week if the symptoms still persist.
