ars alb dosage

My homeopath has prescribed me take ars 6c twice a day for a few months. Is this seem reasonable? I always thought you shouldn't repeat remedy too much or at least increase potency? Any comments?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dear Janey:
The repetition of one remedy depends on: acute or chronic disease, potency and dilution.
If potency is low, you can repeat several times every day without problem; if the potency is high, then you must spaciate the intakes to avoid the aggravations.
If the dilution is X or C, you can give several times a day, depending on the disease; if dlituion is LM, you should take only once a day (but depends too on the symptoms).
If the disease is acute, you have to repeat several times to get relieve; if the disease is chronic, you should take for some time and don't repeat too much.
Arsenicum Album 6C during few months doesn't sound rare, but your homeopath knows the reason. Please, ask to him.
Best regards

Thank you for your insight. My homeopath is on holiday so i haven't the chance to ask yet. Disease is chronic, most symptoms starting one year ago, some longer like couple of years.
thanks again.

Dear Janey:
With your information, I think this dosis and repetition may be right. Don't worry and trust your homeopath. Ars. Alb. has a bad press, but in homeopathy is a great remedy in skin, digestive and in a lot kind of ailments.
Best wishes

You should stop taking the medicine in case

a) There is appreciable amelioration
or
b) There is decided aggravation
or
c) if you get new symptoms which you never had earlier.

The maximum period suggested for any medicine to be taken continuously in 6c potency is one month, and in any case the medicine is to be stopped and the case reviewed after a month.

In case you experience any of the above three conditions, you have to stop taking the medicine and report to your homeopath.

I wish homeopaths tell the patients when to stop the medicine, when they prescribe continuously for long time.

Dear Janey,
Dear Murthy:
I'm agree at all. It very important to keep in contact with your homeopath when you are in a long treatment. And -as Murthy said- I wish too the homeopath tell when to stop.
Best regards

Thank you both for advice. He just say to stop when bottle is through. I will stop when i see improvement, change, or aggravation. If improvement is only partial should i go to higher potency? Also is it ok to also take bach flower remedy GENTIAN or will interact?

Dear Janey:
If improvement is only partial and there are no changes in the symptoms, your homeopath can decide you take a higher potency.
Gentian (bach flowers) is a very good help to you and desn't interact with homeopathic treatment.
Best wishes

Dear Shaiksway,

Look at the top of forum remedies shop-
click on A for Ars Alb- there is a materia
medica that will show up. It lists all
symptoms Ars Alb is given for. There are
hundreds of them- the remedy has to match with enough important symptoms.

The potency chosen is a complicated
question-whether this is a chronic or
an acute complaint, the level of the patients life force, whether they have
an actual physical illness.
