FIORINAL ADDICTION

Hi,
I have an addiction to fiorial/codeine for at least a year, 6 tablets a day, I want to stop, someone told me phenobarbitol in homeopathic could help clean the system and the withdrawal symptoms.
I'm afraid to stop just like that, afraid of seizures.
¨Please help.
thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I can't believe that no one can help in this matter, it's a real and serious problem and I am asking for someone input as to what would help in homeopathic to help with the withdraw and the symptons.
thanks

I agree, avery serious problem which will need the skill of a practioner. It is something that can certainly be helped by homeopathy but you do need to see a practioner who will be able to select the correct remedy, not just take a stab at an allopathic or conventional approach to taking homeopathy

Ask yourself WHY you are taking the cod. tablets. Be willing to honestly accept YOUR answer.
Then Deal with it!

I am a 50 yr old male who spent over 15 years addicted to Fiorinal and Fioricet.
I have been barbiturate free (and all narcotic free) for nearly 5 years now.
Before entering treatment in August of 1999 I was taking 40 Fioricet tablets per day! That's right 40 tablets.
My life was a living hell during the latter part of my addiction.
If anyone would like to read about my story and my recovery I would be happy to share with you my message of hope (and there is real, tangeable hope) with anyone who responds to my posting

I went thru a similar addition several years ago. I finally realized I need professional help, my addition was too much for me to handle. I checked myself into a short term rehab center and then followed up with the twelve step program Narcotics Anonymous. This type of addition is much greater then merely your physical needs and you will need to address the entire fabric of your being, physical emotional and spiritual. After NA I found a wonderful spiritual organization that I would be glad to disucss with you at a later date. I wish the very best, you can do this, and you will if you really desire to be free. God Bless you.

Hi I am new to the forum. I have
been addicted to Fioricet and Fioricet#3 for years. I was buying it off the internet when my husband found out. He confronted me with the scripts. He asked me why I take so many pills. And he wanted me off for the sake of our family. We have two sons. I was so ashamed and embarrassed.I went to a new internist who ran some blood test. One was a liver function which came back high. I was also taking Lamisil for 5 months which could have contributed to the higher level in the reading. Anway, I am 3 days off fioricet and am on an anti-deprecant celexa.
I bought liver detox at the health food store but am not sure it will help. Or is it safe with my anti-depressant?
Has anyone had this problem with liver function?

Hello, I am only sixteen, I only weigh 120, but my neurologist prescribed fioricet about two years ago. I've taken about a thousand mg every day since then with his permission. But recently he took me off zonegran and left me with nothing but fioricet, today alone I had about four thousand five hundred mg, not mention some tylenol and percocet. I don't know what to do, my stomach hurts lately. But if they take it away, I don't know if anything else would be strong enough to break through my immunity to acetaminophen. Can anybody tell me if this is an addiction. If so, is it bad to mix with maoi inhibitors, and other medicines?

Dear Bloodedana,
I think you need to be careful when mixing MAO inhibitors with anything due to the dangers of a high blood pressure crisis.
Let me know if I can be of anymore help.

Dear lillyofthevalley,

Please find a qualified homoeopathic doctor; this is something that controls your life.

Please please please... I've seen cases like these and those who never find someone they can talk to or at least know a bit about normally end up hurt.

My apologizes for not being of any help but your "real and serious problem" needs a real and serious homoeopathic doctor devoted to your health and safety.
