Safe pregnancy detox from paint stripper fumes?
The outside of our apartment building is being painted. Workers spent the first day (yesterday) using a noxious paint stripper, which seeped inside the apartment. My wife is two and a half months pregnant and is anxious about her exposure to the fumes.
She spent most of yesterday out of our apartment to escape the smell.
But we spent most of the evening in our living room, outside of which the work is being done. We didn't really notice the smell, but when we went to bed she had a headache at the base of her skull and neck.
We slept last night in our bedroom, which seems to have escaped the smell since that is to the back of the apartment away from where the work is being done.
This morning she still had her headache, however.
We have since moved out and checked into a local motel.
Can you advise on whether we should be concerned for the well being of our child? Should my wife try a detox and is there a safe one for pregnant women?
