Thigh muscle pain

My father is suffering from thigh muscle pain, both legs equally. The pain is from knee up to the waist. There is no back pain or hip pain of any sort. It affects his ability to walk/stand for a few mins and also to go/up down the stairs. All kinds of allopathic tests have been done, including MRI, catscan, blood tests etc and nothing has been diagnosed yet. He is yet to go for an EMG testing in 2 weeks. He was hospitalized for 2 weeks and the doctors didnt find anything wrong with the major organs. They do suspect muscle inflammation of some sort. I am wondering if we can do anything homepathically to assist with the pain. I was thinking Arnica 200c in water as needed, i'd like to hear your comments/suggestions. Thanks!

TRY MERC SULPH 1M weekly one dose and Rhus tox 200 three times in a day continue for a month and report me.
