Mucus in eyes (toddler)

Hi,

Our son has had a lot of mucus in his eyes, for three days now, following a cold.

We took him to the (allopathic) doctor today, and like all doctors, he gave him antibiotics (eye drops).

His symptoms are as follows:

So far we've given him one dose of Pulsatilla 30C, and one dose of the eye drops. The small print about side effects on the eye drops talked of blood and bone marrow issues, so I'm reluctant to give him another dose. If I hold off on the eye drops, could I be endangering my son's eyes? Will it just take a bit longer to go away.

If not Pulsatilla, any ideas?

Also, how common is this?

Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It looks like Acute case.

Lids are inflammed. Is it painful?

Is it worse by cold and better by warmth?

If yes, please try Hepar -Sulph 30c thrice a day.

Relief must be felt in 24 hours.

In case there is no relief from Hepar sulp, take Pulsatilla 30 two doses every day along with a dose of arg nit 200 in every three days.
Does anyone of your family has allergy problem or allergic conjuctivitis.

Hello Rajendra,

I don't think it's painful for him, his spirits are up, and he's playing and laughing normaly.

I don't think it's worse form cold and better by warmth either; but I will investigate.

Hello Robina,
He's been on Pulsatilla 30 since yesterday. arg nit 200 we don't have but we have it in a 30C. Should I give him that daily?

Yes, my cousin had allergic conjuctivitis in his childhood.

Thank you both so very very much for your time. I'll report back soon.

You can give him arg nit 30 alternating with Puls 30- two doses each.
In case there is a genetic history of eye infection, then an intercurrent medicine is to be taken.
At present, let the above medicines work.

He's looking much better, but his eyelids are still puffy. Should I now stop giving him the remedies now that improvement has started. (photo below)

You can give him an occasional dose of apis 30 for sweelling of eyelids. Give him the other medicines for a couple of days more and then stop.

Hi Rajendra,

It's a little blurry, but the puffiness, and the gunk have both gone.

He is now complaining of ear ache, which may or mar not be related. It's his left ear. I can't get him to describe the pain as he doesn't know any of the appropriate words.

To post photos, you can scroll to the bottom of the reply box, and there's a box to attach a photo.

Thanks!

For pain in ear, give him a dose of Bell 200 -only one dose and see if he complains again of ear ache

Thanks Robina, it's cleared up now anyway, but I'll certainly try that if it comes back.
