Little girl - dry skin

My little girl - 1 1/2 years old. She is getting a rash on her thigh and lower back. It started about a week ago. It is red in color and bumpy. I am guessing it is from the very cold dry wind we had outside last week. I have not put lotion on her because I don't want to drive it into her body. Is there something I can do for homeopathically?
Thanks.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Lets try this again. Does anyone have a suggestion for dry skin other than lotion? I thought homeopaths were against putting any kind of lotion on the skin.
Another symptom: she has an uncontrolable appitete. Always hungry. Never full. Her stomache is a bottomless pit. She wants to eat every hour on the hour and than continues to eat until I just make her stop. We have not found a food yet (oh sorry - brocoli) that she doesn't like. She eats onions raw!
Any ideas how help her be more content with a bit less food a bit less often. I don't mind her big appitete at home because she knows she can't eat all the time but when we are at someones house and there is food visable it is terrible, she throws terrible fits if she can't continue to eat and eat, etc.
Thanks.

Dear peace, I am sorry, but I am positive your child has a severe eating disorder. It is serious and if you find an intelligent doctor before she gets much older you can make sure she has a normal life.

She "needs" something (mineral or something) and is eating to try to "find" it. It is automatic in the body and unless you find the cause, she could weigh 200 lbs by the time she is 5 years old. Her disposition will only become more anxious. Watch her, she is anxious, yes?

I am certian that when the eating disorder is found and worked with, the skin will follow. I have seen this before, but not personally.

I will call around tomorrow and try to find out the name of the disorder. My medical book would take all my time for several days to read all the pages of disorders. I do not have time.

This has been on Maury's TV show and others.

Get on the internet and look up "eating disorders." Other parents have found answers, you will too. Begin with the actual disorder and then you will have more details to report. Homeopathy can help, but this is serious and would be better looked at from all angles for the good of your child. Keep us posted. Sabra

She must naturally have a high metabolism (did I spell that right?) because she is not fat or even overweight. She weighs 21 lbs at 1 1/2 years of age. Her big brother weighed 25 lbs by 1 1/2 and her big sister weighed 30 lbs by 1 1/2 years of age. But I would still like to figure it out. Thanks.

I was interupted before and was unable to finish my post. My mother in-law has mentioned that she thinks our little girl has worms or parasites because of her unfullfilled appitete.
I mentioned her big sister being 30 lbs by 1 1/2 years of age, she had a very big appitete and we controlled it as much as we could (at grandma and grandpa's house it's sometimes uncontrollable) and she is a normal 38 lbs at age 5 1/2 now. But she still has a great love for food.
Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated, I would enjoy hearing Pankaj opinion on this since you have been so helpful to me in my personal post and the post I made concerning our sons eczema.
Thanks.

Peace !

If you suspect she has worms...and it could be a possibility.....wud be best if you can get her stool tested.

If the result confirms>>>worms...then CINA is the homeopathic medicine for it....a very effective one.

Thanks pankaj. Is there signs or symptoms I can look for the would confirm her having worms or confirm her not having them other than going to the doctor with a stool sample? I'm not against doctors but in our area it's sometimes very hard to see a doctor when one wants to see one (it could take up to 2 months before the appointment) and then they wouldn't even consider doing a stool sample for worms because they would say 'she looks healthy, you're over reacting'. We have a free health care, they do very little testing here.
What are the symptoms?
Thanks.

The internet turned out to be a bust for eating disorders as all they can talk about is anorexa and bulimia.

Good that you wrote about the older daughter. I feel better hearing the tendency in your children to eat a lot. I have never heard of such a young child with such an appetite.

I did find what I was looking for, but feel it is not necessary to discuss it. In the next year or two if things change, please take her to a doctor specializing in young children and eating disorders. I will change my focus on the dry skin. Sabra

Some of the symptoms for worms in the digestive system are:

Itching of the Anus.

Loss of weight inspite of healthy eating. Infact, immediately hungry after eating a healthy meal.

Eyes sink inside the sockets.

Blood vessels show up through the skin.

Skin looks pale.

In extreme cases there are convulsions.

Child is lethargic, irritable has dis-interest in all activities.

(Can also see the drug picture of CINA).

Well it sounds like our daughter has some of the symptoms you listed: pale skin, hungry right after healthy meal, lose of weight (she is not losing at present but has had issues in her past) inspite of healthy eating, eyes sink inside of socket (she looks healthier now but people used to comment on how deep her eyes looked.
I will look up the picture of Cina. Thanks.

Many times mothers can find pin worm by using a flash light when the child is asleep and checking the rectom. Pin worms come out when a child is at rest and lay eggs outside of the rectom. The child scratches and puts fingers in mouth and reinfects.

Tape worms and round worms would be found in the feces. A little inch long thing that looks like a piece of pasta is evidence of tape worm. The round worms are expelled still alive and wiggling and are easy to spot. Sabra

Yes!
Sabra is giving great advice. Very useful.

With the symptoms you are posting about the girl.....no harm to give some CINA.

Thank you. How would you prescribe Cina? We have Cina 200c at home (once prescribed for our 5 1/2 year old daughter). 1 dose one time? Every day for a few days for weeks? I'm not sure how to prescribe. Thanks.
Also. Her rash is getting worse (what I thought to be dry skin). It started on her right leg, now she has it on her right leg, lower back, right side stomach and right arm. She is finding it itchy (I can see scratch marks). It looks similar to eczema, red bumpy, ithcy skin. It started only about a week ago.
Any ideas?
Thanks again.

Give one dose of CINA 200.

Repeat another dose after one week.

Side by side give Graphites to the girl also i nthe same way as suggested to you.(Start after 48 hours of giving CINA)

I think the graphites constitution runs in you and your children.

Remember, for kids the dose has to be half of what you give to adults.

Not a bad sign following a remedy. Called a cleansing response, if continues, then we talk about it. Encourage water intake. If too much urine and child not feeling well, give some potatoe chips for salt and a small bit of sugar. (cookie, sm donut, sweet tea) The salt and sugar dose will cause the body to use the water instead of passing through. Sabra

The smelly urine only lasted a day. I still have not started her on the graphities because she got a cough so I thought I would let that pass first. I will start her on the graphities tomorrow morning. The rash is getting bad, she finds it very itchy, I feel sorry for her.

Have been reading. Out of half dozen possibles, I suggest one dose of LEDUM. It may not have been the weather but a plant reaction. You will notice with one dose if it is the cause.

There are so many "Itch" remedies, but I went back to your first post and chose this one. Sabra

Sabra,
Her son responded to Graphites.

I suspected the taint runs in the family....so I suggested Graphites.

Although, she herself has not found any benefit from Graphites....since then have asked her some more questions.

I will post back after Graphities and we can discuss any changes or lack there of and go from there. Thank you everyone for your interest in helping my daughter.

I am seeing some improvement but her skin (where the rashes are) gets very red each time she is in the bath, after a day it subsides somewhat.

Yesterday, Sunday, she began to vomit. I notices Saturday she was very irritable and then she slept for 4 hours Sunday afternoon (noon -4pm, she usually sleeps only an hour). At supper she vomited two times (curds, milk), and did not eat (remember she is a big eater so this is odd). She went to sleep by by 9pm and slept until close to 8am. Again hardly touched her breakfast, not interested in a morning snack, and went back to sleep midmorning. She looks pale but has not vomited since Sunday at super. No loose stool. Still drinking water. I gave Nux Vomica 200c when she vomited, we were at someone elses house and I did not want her to continue to vomit.

What did she eat ?

Okay to have given Nux.V.

She had not eaten anything at supper by the time she vomited. For lunch she had a couple of bites of homemade taco meat and some milk.
She has not vomited since then. Monday morning she had four loose stools within one hour But since then has had only one. This morning she woke up dry, she has not peed in her diaper. I am wondering if this is turning into a bladder infection. She is drinking water, as much as usual but is not drinking as much milk, though she did have a whole cup of milk before bed last night and still a dry diaper in the morning.
She is not running a fever. She looks pale. She slept well during the night. She is coughing a bit. She is eating more agian (started at supper yesterday). She was given Nux Vomica again after the 4 loose stools.
How can I know more about her bladder, where do I go from here?
Thanks.

If a child vomits.....add sugar and salt to some water and keep giving every half hour.

First thing you have to avoid is dehyderation.

Sugar and salt give energy and restore digestion.

WHO recommends "ELECTRAL" ...I think that is the right name...it is glucose based and very good.

Homeopathic meds will help side by side....some times the doctor is not availabe nearby.

Water in-take is absolutely a must.

Did well to give Nux Vomica.

Be selective with what she eats.

Pankaj Varma
