Infant skin rash

My 6 month old baby has skin rash on his right cheek more towards the ear, it started since he was around 4 months and it got worse . . . it spread to the left cheek and forehead and it also appeared on the shanks. I consulted a homeopathic doctor, she prescribed some medicine. But then i became very reluctant to give my baby the medicine, because a friend of mine had consulted the same doctor for her 5 month baby's skin rash and after using the medicine the condition aggravated very much. The baby still has the rash and he itches it till it bleeds, when showed to the doctor she only assured her that it will get fine but it might take some time, say another 1-2 years.
Iwaited for sometime and the rash reduced very much, now it is there only slightly on the right cheek and a little on the shanks, now i talked to the doctor again telling her my fears, she says that ishe has given an LM potency and i could expect some aggravation maybe or maybe nothing at all. I told her it is reducing by itself but she said that i should still give the baby the medicine, beause the rash is a sign improper lymphatic drainage. I don't know what i should do... I would like to help my baby get better but still i am afraid of an aggravation similar to friends baby.... any advice?!!
