Homeopathbuff? Silica for baby reflux advice pleaseHi,
I have read a few of your posts on silica for infants suffering reflux... my girl is six months and has had reflux since about six weeks... it did seem to subside for a while, but now it seems it is back with vengeance, lots of vomits after feeds and also the silent reflux where she swallows what is brought up back down... is causing a lot of night wakings, gave her panadol last night in desperation and she slept all night, not sure if this was because her pain was relieved or because it may have made her drowsy...?
She is formula fed, I am wondering with the silica, how do u adminster it?? or is it in liquid form or something??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know what the common age is for reflux to die down or not bother babies so much?? I feel so sorry for her as she is so tired and rubbing her eyes but keeps burping and then swallowing and can't get any sleep.

I am not a homeopath so cannot help too much with prescription but my son also went through reflux and I just wanted to reassure you that it does go away completely by the end of the first year, usually without any major damage to the baby-- homeopathy helped him but my own personal advice would be to post some more details about your baby's nature, habits etc so an experienced hom can suggest a suitable remedy -- although silicea is one of the remedies for reflux it's not the only one.
As an alternative -- try massaging your baby and elevating her head especially after feedings.
Hang in there, it does get better :)
