2 year old with deep cough & runny nose (yellow-green discharge)
Hi,My son had a runny nose with yellow-greenish discharge a month ago, which developed into an ear infection with a fever. He totally recovered from it last week.
Two days ago, he started coughing. The cough is getting deeper now and worsens at night and when he's sleeping. He also has a runny nose - yellow-greenish slightly watery discharge. He cannot breathe through his nose now. No fever. No change in appetite. It's the winter season now, so it's not allergy as well. His poop changed from brown to yellow and the consistency from hard to paste. He's lively and runs all the time. Can you please advise me what he can take. I want to prevent it from getting into a ear infection. Thanks for being so helpful.

- He's drinking slighly less water. He's drinking as much milk as he usually drinks.
- The cough started as a deep cough coming from the chest. It's moved up and when he's coughing now, it's coming more from his throat than his chest. He does not have a sore throat.
- I cannot tell if the throat is blocked.
- The chest is clear. No rattling.
- The worst cough is when he's lying down & sleeping. This afternoon he coughed all the time during his nap. I gave him (Chestal with honey for children syrup) and the honey alleviated the cough. The cough definitely subsided in the evening hours until he went to bed and it stated again.
- I think his cough gets worse when he enters a warm room (but not sure).

its ok if you have given him pulsatilla 30c.
another remedy which comes to my ming in this case is KALI BICH.
if pulsatilla does not work, you can give him kali biCH 30C every four hours for some 1 or 2 days till you notice a change.
MERC SOL would be helpful if the ear infections are concurrent with throat infections if pulsatilla doesnt work.

He's been on pulsatilla for 2 days now and the nasal discharge has diminished in quantity and has also become less runny. I will report progress over the next couple of days.

Pulsatilla did not have the desired effect. His nose is still running - still a greenishe discharge, dries at the edge of the nostrils. No fever. The cough is almost gone. Today I switched him from Pulsatilla 6C to KALI BICH 30C - gave him 3 doses and the discharge seems to have slowed down. I will give hum kali biCH for another day and report back. Thanks for the advice.

KALI BICH 30c did not help a lot. My 2-year old still has the nasal discharge which is thick and greenish-yellow in color. It stays around the nostrils, but does not form a crust. The night cough started again - it's a dry cough, but pretty disturbing and very frequent. The cough starts right after he falls asleep and lasts through the night. Please, advise what I can give to him. Shall I try Sticta Pulmonaria, and if so, how much and for how long. Thanks for your help.

please stop kali bich and try the following salt combination for a week
1. Kali Mur-6x
2. Ferr.Phos-6x
3. Silicia-6x
2 grain each per dose thrice a day.
