Low Cortisol level????
Hi all! I'm a prior service memeber and am dealing with Veterans Affairs for my medical. I am a 28 w/f, otherwise health, UNDERweight, but now 50lbs heavier than normal. After a year of testing they finally sent off bloodwork and a 24 hour UA. Came back with low cortisol levels. I see an Endocrinologist next week. They thought it was my gall bladder..went in for surgery, and they found too many ulcers in my stomach-so no surgery. I also have had diarrhea for 4 months STRAIGHT! So my question is....if my Cortisol levels are low, why am I gaining weight??? This is the only symptom that I have that does not match??? Someone please help! Getting sicker..and heavier!! (Cushing's is related to HIGH cortisol levels).Amber
