Cerebral Atrophy
A boy of 10 months has recently diagnosed cerebral atrophy. Since one month he is treated with Barium Carb. Any other good remedy?Asadq on 2004-11-17

Cerebral atrophy is when neurons in the brain continuously break down and die off due to another disorder.
What is the disorder?
Did a medical doctor diagnose him? Did you get a second opinion from another medical doctor? Are both of their suggestions for treatment the same?
For something so serious as cerebral atrophy, please stay with your medical doctor's advice. They are professionally trained for over 10 years (in the USA) and their opinions should not be taken lightly.

Since surgery is out of the question here - are there any drugs they might prescribe? Do you know Orume? What are their side effects?

There's no way for me to know. We don't know what the underlying disease is.
Cerebral atrophy is caused by something else, like cerebral palsy, or Alzheimer's for example. There's a few more diseases that cause it too, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

Whatever the disorder is, Alzeheimer, CP MD MS whatever-do you think they can cure any of these disorders? I never heard of a medical cure for these diseases.
Anyway--this is "only" a homeopathic board- and he/she wants homeopathic suggestion only.

Yes it is Baryta Carb and in 30 potency, Morning and Evening Daily.
He cannot hold his head,
Cannot Sit,
Try to speak, and move its hands and legs after Baryta Carb,
Saliva comes out from mouth,
Head size is 37cm instead of app. 30cm,
No mother fed since birth.

Before Baryta C. he was constipated now he is occassionaly constipated

Congestion in chest,
Doesn't recognised any voice, unless spoken in front of his face,
Squint right eye,
Diminished Reflexes,
Always wants to keep in lap and walking,
Head retracts backward,
Slight ammalurtaed while sleeps on bally.
During pregnancy mother was given only homeopathic medicines like Alfalfa Tonic, Kali Phos 6x, Five Phos 6x, and Homeopathic Relaxant and Antidepressant,
Diet was normal as for pregnant women. 10 days before delivery there was hypertension and controlled on the same moment with homeopathic medicines.
Cerebral Atrophy dignosed through CT Scanning. Following is the report:
-Prominent sylvianfissures, sulci and gyri noted.
-Gray and white matter is well differentiated.
-No focal lesion seen.
-No evidence of intracerebral, sub dural/extra dural bleed.
-No midline shift observed
-The posterior fossa shows prominent cisterna magna.
-Ventricles are moderately dilated.
-In view sinuses are clear.

Natural Birth, But during delivery head stucked and they used forceps.
Remedies like Coffea, Passiflora, VAlerian, Crataegus, Alfalfa, Cactus, Valerian, Aconite, Five Phos e.t.c all in 6 potency. Taken not 2 frequently but i think 4 or five times during the whole pregnancy time. The basic purpose was to lower down the blood pressure, and headache. The mother had headache only once before 10 days of delivery.
The baby hasn't breast fed.
Only Kali Phos 6x used before birth andf the birth was planned.
Mother is married and father available.
No immunizations to mother except in childhood the vaccination.
This is the first baby, No Abbortion No miscarriage. Mother agae during pregnancy was 19 years.
Mother is very sensitive. Cannot stay in the dark.
Child was only vaccinated, which is necessary after birth, And only homeopathic medicines is given tyil now, Like Aconite, Belladona, Chamomilla, Nux Vomica, Bryonia, Arsenic, Calc. Carb, Cic. Vir,
Child is not getting weight, Cough and chest congestion since birth.
His right eye squinted inwards after vaccinated with polio vaccine.
One more thing, Much blood of baby wasted during the birth from the intestine. This was not notted by the doctor and even not by the mother, but when they change his pamper after 5 hours it was compltely covered with blood from inside, then they came to know about this.
