Acid Phos 30 - Aggravation

My daughter 3 1/2 years old is suffering from a rare type of rickets called Vitamin D Dependent Rickets Type II. She has all the sympotoms of severe rickets like bowed legs, big head, constriction of chest. There is also alopecia by birth. She has lot of chest problems. She also has purple/blue spots on the body also. She is also suffering from constant diahorrea.

One of the doctors advised her Acid Phos 30, 2-3 drops per day. He told me that her real problem is loss of phosphates in urine, which was also confirmed from the urine test. There has been much improvement after Acid Phos 30. Enlarged veins on the head has been really reduced in size. Now she talks a lot first she did not. Also started to walk a bit, still she has a lot of dificulty in walking. Apetite has really increased. First she was going for unrination every 10-15 mins now every hour or even later. Overall there has been enough improvement but there has been one problem which occours while sleeping, at night only, that is, very severe grinding of teeth and feeling uncomfortable. She cannot sleep at night and constantly grind her teeth after taking Acid Phos 30. This had never happened before. Please note that grinding of teeth is very severe, also lot of sweating on the back of the head. I talked to the doctor who adviced Acid Phos 30, and he said this is aggravation. Is this aggravation? If yes, what I have to do to get rid of this aggravation? Should we change the medicine? or Should we change the potency? Please help.

more like calc phos----but first thing --stop phos acid dosing--alloow her system balance--and assess from that view--right now may be witnessing drug (phos acid ) symptoms-----some aspects of symptos may change and some may reain--need allow no meds for bit to get clear pic---this 1st step--

We have stopped Acid Phos 30 right away.

I forgot to mention that her serum calcium is almost mormal 8.1 mg/dl ( normal range = 8.6 - 10.5) but her serum phosphate is very low, 2.0 md/dl ( normal range = 4.0 - 6.3). Her Serum Alkaline Phosphatase is 7050 I.U/L.

homoepathic prescription is NEVER based on that data---it is allo diagnostic tool---no help what so ever in homoepathic remedy choice...if someone tell otherwise--only show stheie lack in homoeopath approachh--which is all too common

Phos acid has been stopped today as you have suggested. No Phos acid dose was given today, normally we give it in the morning. Please let me know what to do next? i.e report after how many days.

keep notes on changes---allow no other med til a settling -steadiness of syptomsis existing---this steadied sympto pic will guide next step...reporta s often as possible so as folow assessment....also be keen to observe all possible--smallest of things may be of value--

Acid Phos 30 was given for 12 days and then stopped 2 days before.

Grinding of teeth is very less now. almost gone. Viens on the head are still reduced. She is going for urination after long intervals like an hour or so. Her face seems to be more pale though.

Please let me know what to do next i.e wait for some more days or start calc phos as you have suggested? If yes, in what potency Calc Phos should be started.

Thanks for all the help. Please let me know if more information is required.

Hello advanced learner.

It sounds to me that one of two things are happening here. Either there may have indeed been some need for Phos Ac in your daughter's condition, and that her symptoms are changing somewhat, or a wrong prescription has exacerbated the underlying symptoms of the remedy required, which is not infrequently the case, especially in children, who's 'vital force' is a lot stronger.

Either way, there is a remedy very clearly indicated here, as your daughters symptomology contains practically all the remedies 'keynotes'.

I would follow Mr Stanton's advice, and give nothing further, for perhaps a week, and report back, but I am pretty certain the presentation will not change dramatically, and that the remedy in question will still be presenting.

The remedy is Calc Carb.

what is current exact status of child?

It has been 3 weeks since acid phos has been stopped. I donot feel much improvement overall. Still she finds it very dificult. She still some times grind her teeth at night but very less and ocasionally.

Doctor John, you had mentioned that the medicine is calc phos. In what potency it should be used in my daughter's case. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Sweating in the back of head in night and grinding of teeth are both characteristic symptoms of Calc Carb. Since the ailment is of a child and Calcium level is still not sufficinet. Calc Carb is more strongly indicated.

Calc Carb 30 one dose that is all. Then wait and watch the response before further action is decided on.
